Weather Update: Hot Weather Slides Into The Area


Remember back when we had snow on the ground and the thermometer couldn't get above the freezing mark and we couldn't wait for Summer? Well, we got the heat but high humidity seems to be it's little brother that we can't get rid of. Stay cool the next few days.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: DWI Arrest

On July 3, Marcial Solis-Lara, 39, Schell City, was arrested after a traffic stop by St. Clair County deputies on A Hwy near NW 1001 Road, Appleton City. Solis-Lara was booked into the St. Clair County Jail for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. Bond was set at $500 cash or surety and a court date of August 1 was given. Solis-Lara was also arrested on a Pettis County warrant for failing to appear in court on a driving without a license charge. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety and a court date of July 16 was given.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Warrants Issued

  • On June 30, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Lance Hill, 35, Springfield, on an Osceola Police Department warrant failing to appear in court on two misdemeanor traffic offenses. Bond is set at $365 cash only and a court date of Aug. 8 was given.
   

  • On July 1, a St. Clair County felony arrest warrant was issued for Edwin Lyons, 37, Osceola, for a probation violation on an original charge of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.

 
  • On July 3, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Christina Yeager, 39, Carterville, on a misdemeanor warrant for passing a bad check-less than $500. Bond was set at $500 cash only. The charge stems from an incident in August 2005. An arrest warrant was issued in March 2006.


  • On June 30, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Daniel Cutler, 49, Lowry City, for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of stealing. Bond is set at $250 cash only and a court date Aug. 1 was given.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Clinton Fire Department: Grain Company Fire


The Clinton Fire Department was called to Hankins Grain Co. on North 2nd Street at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday to battle a structure fire. Heavy rains and thick smoke were certainly factors in battling the blaze but the fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control in a short period of time. Around 6:30 a.m. The Urich Fire Department arrived to assist at the scene.


Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 7/5/14

  
On 7/5/14 around 8:55pm The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 2 people from Nevada, Missouri 33 year old Timara S. Beck and 34 year old Danny K. Strafford on Felony Possession with intent to distribute harmful drugs and endangering the welfare of a child. Both was booked into the Bates County Jail and later released. Bates County Live will update this story when more information becomes available.

The Bates County area was hit with heavy rains, lots of lightning and loud thunder this morning. Several reports of power outages in Butler and surrounding areas were reported with this storm. Some areas in the region has already received 4 inches of rain in a 4 hour time frame. Bates County Live took these photos this morning around the Butler area. Missouri Public Service Commission Hearing In Butler Monday Evening

The Missouri Public Service Commission will hold a hearing Monday evening in Butler on a rate increase request filed earlier this year by Liberty Utilities (Midstates Natural Gas) Corporation. The company's request was filed February 6, seeking approval to raise customer rates by about $12.35-a-month in Western Missouri, $9.05-a-month in Northeast Missouri and $6.40-a-month in Southeast Missouri. 


Monday's hearing starts with a question-and-answer session by the PSC staff at 6:00 p.m. in Robertson Hall at the Bates County Museum, 802 Elks Drive, with the taking of sworn testimony to follow.
