St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office: Parmalee facing felony drug charge

On July 9, Michael Parmalee, 34, Osceola, was arrested on a
felony drug charge following a narcotics investigation in Lowry City. Information was obtained regarding alleged drug activity occurring at a residence. 

During the investigation, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and officers from the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force found Parmalee to be in possession of a glass pipe containing a white powder that field tested positive for methamphetamine. 

On July 10, a formal charge was filed and an arrest warrant was issued charging Parmalee with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 7/11/14

  • Around 12:25am this morning The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 45 year old Lowell V. Myers of Eldorado Springs, Missouri. He was arrested on 1-4 Misdemeanor warrants out of Osceola and Misdemeanor warrant out of the city of Clinton. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and his current status is bond able.

Butler Aquatic Center Swim Lessons

Due to a large turn out this year the Butler Aquatic Center is considering the possibility of expanding the number of swim lesson classes currently being offered for area youth. 

The additional classes would be conducted between the hours of 6:00 P M and 7:00 P M weeknights. The decision to conduct the classes will be based on enrollment numbers. For more information contact the Butler Aquatic Center at 660-679-3521

4-H Press Release: Bates County 4-H Horse Show results‏

(BUTLER, MO – July 11, 2014)  After being rained out on Sunday, July 6, the Bates County 4-H Horse Show was held with drier conditions on Thursday, July 10, at the Bates County Fairgrounds.  Thirteen 4-H horsemanship members participated. Results from the show are as follows:
       
 Novice Division:

REMINDER: 10th Annual Appleton City Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show

The 10th Annual Appleton City Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held Saturday, July 12 at the City Park. Check-in is from 9:00 a.m. to noon and the Car Show will be from noon to 3:00 p.m. There will be a $10 entry fee per vehicle. There will be judges for all classes with 5 car classes, 3 truck classes and one each motorcycle and rat rod class. There will also be 10 special pick awards. The first 150 entries will be given Dash Plaques. D.J. Brandon Wallace will present music on the Stage. There will also be a 50-50 drawing and door prizes.
