Cass County Sheriffs Office: Sobriety Checkpoint

The Cass County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint during the month of August.

This special enforcement is designed to make roadways safer and increase public awareness of the hazards of drinking and driving. "By removing intoxicated drivers from the roadways we can decrease the potential for motor vehicle accidents," said Sheriff Dwight Diehl.

Partial funding for this project comes from a traffic safety grant program administered by the Highway Safety Division of the Missouri Department of Transportation. Normal traffic flow will not be severely interrupted, and delays will be minimal. The patience, cooperation, and understanding of all motorists will help make the highways safer for all drivers and passengers.
