Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 9/1/14

  • On 9/1/14 The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 37 year old Andrea R. Conus of Ottawa, Kansas. She was arrested on 1.) Felony possession of a controlled substance ( Methamphetamine) 2.) Possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana 3.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She was processed at the scene and later released.

Butler Fire Department MDA Boot Block

 


The Butler Fire Department participated in the annual MDA Boot Block at M-52 @ I-49 Friday evening and Saturday morning. We raised a total of $2,313.50. Thanks to all of the members of the department and family members that helped, and to all that came through for their donations.

Obituary - Terry Lee Brewster


Terry Lee Brewster, 67, Rich Hill, Mo, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at his home. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home with burial in Freeman Cemetery. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday. A complete obituary will be posted when it becomes available.

Local Farmers Alert: Hay Bales Being Set on Fire

Bates County Live has received several emails over the weekend about hay bales being set on fire. We thought that we should alert the local farmers in the area. 

We attempted to contact the Bates County Sheriffs Office and are waiting on a call back for more information so that we can update this story.

Tree Blocking Roadway In Butler


The city of Butler crews is in route to a tree that is blocking the roadway in Butler. The location of this down tree is at the corner Prospect and Grove Street on the West side of Butler. Please use caution when traveling in this area as crews will be working on cleaning up the mess.

Weather Update: Another Round Of Storms Possible This Afternoon/Evening


The Morning storms are moving out, but another round of storms is possible this afternoon and evening. Any storms that develop have the potential to become strong to severe, especially south of I-70, so keep an eye out if your Labor Day plans involve being outdoors!
