Weather Update: Approaching Storms Should Hold off until Late Evening tonight

For those who have relished the last several days of summer-like temperatures you better get out and enjoy today as change is in the air. We can expect to see several rounds of showers and thunderstorms over the next few days. The rain could reach the northwest corner of Missouri by late this afternoon. Fortunately for those who may be heading to any outdoor activities this evening, like maybe a baseball game, the rain should hold off until after your event is over.

The storms this evening and overnight should be rather tame.
But they'll likely be stronger Wednesday afternoon and evening with a few severe storms possible west of I-35. As a cold front passes through on Thursday severe weather will again be possible. Lots can change over the next 24 hours which will affect the risk of severe weather, such as if storms are on-going Wednesday morning it will make it more difficult to generate severe weather later in the day.

Of the very best yet: Jubilee 2014

2014 Jubilee Queen Kaylee Ewbank
At times, it was a struggle finding 'wiggle room' in Amsterdam last Saturday as around 60 vendors lined the street along with, lots of people. Thanks to heavy promotion by the Jubilee committee, the 2014 celebration had every appearance of one of the most successful yet in terms of turnout since the inception of the Jubilee in 1976.

Another big plus was a schedule chock full of contests, activities and entertainment that included some old time favorites and new things mixed in as well. Entertainment included Branson favorite Susan Hudson Carmen, a talent show, and the night rounded out with the annual street dance.
