Nevada Police Department Investigate phone scam

Nevada Police Department investigators have been investigating a Phone Scam. Nevada PD Officials say, they have received several calls from area residents reporting a call from an individual claiming to be an IRS Agent. The caller claims that the victim has delinquent tax payments and, if no corrective action is taken, a federal arrest warrant will be issued. These calls are bogus and the resident should be cautious to avoid becoming victim. The caller will often include the threat of federal civil action against them. Citizens who are contacted by the scammers should not provide any personal information to the caller. If you are contacted, Nevada PD encourages you to document the time and the phone number of the call. You are also encouraged to contact your local law enforcement officals if you have any information that would be helpful to combat the crime.
