INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Independence Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for Tommie E. Richardson of Independence, Mo.
Richardson has dementia. He walked away in an unknown direction from a residence at 118 East Southside Boulevard in Independence at 10 a.m. on Friday.
Richardson, 69, is described as 5’9”, 155 pounds with gray hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing glasses, a black leather cap, a green and gray fleece jacket and blue jeans.
Officials ask anyone who sees Richardson or has any information regarding him to immediately call 911 or call the Independence Police Department at 816-836-3600.

Nevada man arrested in connection to burglary and theft cases

The suspect has been indentified as 40 year old Timothy Roark. Roark was arrested on charges issued by the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court for attempted burglary in the 2nd degree, and two counts of felony stealing. Roark is being held in the Vernon County Jail. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only. Nevada Police Department reminds area residents to contact their local police department if they have any information that would be helpful to combat crime.
Women Legislators of Missouri Scholarship
JEFFERSON
CITY, Mo. –Women Legislators of Missouri are encouraging young
women set to graduate from high school to apply for a $500 college
scholarship. Each year the group selects one student from each of
Missouri’s congressional districts to receive the award. Members
hope to spread the word about the scholarship opportunity so that
female students from all parts of the state will apply.
“This is a
great opportunity for any young woman who is interested in continuing
her educational career to receive some valuable financial
assistance.” Said District 126th Representative,
Patricia Pike.
“I look
forward to welcoming our area’s scholarship recipient and her
guests to the Capitol to receive this honor.”
The Women
Legislators of Missouri Caucus created the senior scholarship program
to provide financial assistance to students on the basis of
leadership, academics and community service. Candidates must fill out
an application and are required to submit a 500-word essay answering
the question, “If you were a state legislator, what would you hope
to accomplish and why?”

The group will select
recipients and then a hold a reception in their honor on Monday,
April 27 in the in the State Capitol. Following the reception, the
scholarships will be presented to the recipients in the Missouri

The Bates County Sheriffs Office is currently attempting to locate a black ford truck driving around selling laundry detergent and air filters. These people have not committed a crime but has caused an alarm due to recent Burglaries in other county's. If you have contact with them please contact the sheriff's office at 679-3232

Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest report 2/5/15
On 2.5.15 around 2:55 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 47 year old Melissa M. Randolph of Prairie Du Chien Wisconsin.
She was arrested on 1.) Felony possession of a controlled substance and later released from the Bates County Jail.
