Get your Bates County Sheriffs Office No Trespassing Signs

The Bates County Sheriff's Office has a limited number of these signs free to residents of Bates County to mark your rural property. 

Stop by the Sheriff's Office Monday - Friday between 8 am and 4 pm to pick up your sign from Jami.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Property damage and stealing reports taken

Property damage on NE 800 Road:

On April 12, a St. Clair County deputy took a property damage report on NE 800 Road, Lowry City. Vernard Tucker reported damage to the bumper of his 1984 Chevrolet pickup. Tucker said a contractor installing electrical meters moved his truck by pushing on the rear bumper with a skid steer loader. He said the bumper is now bent. Damage was estimated at $350.

Stealing report at Pilot:

On April, 11, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing report on SE 1000 Road. Nathan Quinn reported he and another individual were traveling from Iowa in a company van belonging to 1203 Entertainment, Hermitage, TN. Quinn said they arrived at the Pilot gas station, Collins, and the individual took 16 tee-shirts valued at $15 each, 240 assorted compact discs valued at $10 each and $1,000 cash. Quinn said the individual loaded everything into a red Mustang GT that waiting at Pilot.

Property damage on B Highway:

On April 10, a St. Clair County deputy took a property damage complaint at Bill Wishon’s property on NW B Highway. Mike Foster, a caretaker of the property, stated he noticed a gate had been opened and there were tire tracks around the yard, going behind the houses, and back out of the property through the yard on the west side of the property. Foster noted the tire tracks were very deep in certain places. He said plywood covering some windows was also taken down and laying in the yard.

McBee's to open second store in Passaic

If you are a fan of McBee’s famous brats, you won’t have to drive to Amsterdam in about 90 days.

A second McBee’s store will now be located in the former “Feed Lot” building at the four-way stop in Passaic. The store is currently undergoing extensive remodeling as well as cleaning up the driveway and plans to be open in the next 90 days.

Everything you have come to love and expect from McBees from their famous home-made brats, to smoked meats and sandwiches will now be available at their second store in Passaic.

Plans are also to have a place for you to sit down and eat your meal if you have the time. Two locations for you to choose from, same great service, same great food.

Free Fishing Days in Missouri

On Saturday and Sunday, June 6th and 7th, any person may fish state waters without permits, trout permits, and prescribed area daily tag.

Free Fishing Days provide a great opportunity for beginning anglers to try fishing in Missouri on public waterways without having to purchase a fishing license.

Experienced anglers can use the Free Fishing Days events to mentor someone who has an interest in learning more about the sport.

Maryville man arrested on charges in Bates County

On 04-10-2015 Japheth Daniel Busick (DOB 06-27-1992) of Maryville, Missouri was arrested on two counts of Promoting Obscenity 1st Degree (Class D Felony) and two counts of 1st Degree Endangering the welfare of Child-Sexual Conduct. Busick was arrested in Maryville, Missouri. 

The bond was set at $30,000 cash or surety. The warrant was a result of an investigation of a crime that had occurred in rural Bates County in the Drexel area. 

The Bates County Detective’s Division began its investigation on 02-23-2015 and concluded it on the arrest of the suspect.
