Harrisonville man injured in Cass County ATV crash

Around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a 1 vehicle ATV accident on I-49 at Mile Marker 164.4 in the Northbound lane.

The accident occurred when the 2006 Yamaha 700R ATV driven by 23 year old Steven M. Lounsbery of Harrisonville, Missouri was Northbound to the end of Rockhaven Road.


The ATV drove off the roadway and onto the state right of way and struck the 164.4 mile marker sign and began to slide out of control before striking the end cap of the guardrail and ejecting the driver.


Mr. Lounsbery received moderate injuries in this accident and was taken to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri by West Peculiar EMS. The ATV was totaled and towed from the scene by a private tow.

Authorities searching for missing south-central Missouri teen

STOUTLAND, Mo. — Authorities in south-central Missouri are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager.

According to police, Jace Logan Peterson, 15, was last seen around 9:45 p.m. in the area of 1700 Marshall Road in Stoutland, Missouri, which is located in Camden County northeast of Lebanon.

Peterson is described as 5’4″, 130 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt with “Remington” printed on it, blue jeans and brown rubber boots.

Authorities in Camden and Laclede counties are searching for Peterson. Anybody with information about Peterson’s whereabouts should call the Camden County Sheriff’s Office at (573) 346-2243.

Car Show in Rich Hill May 3rd

The United Methodist Church in Rich Hill will be hosting a car show on Sunday, May 3rd. All funds will be used to help send children to summer bible camp. The United Methodist Church is located on Park Avenue at the Park.

Registration begins at 11am with judging from noon to 2pm. It’s an open registration, no classes for a $10 entry fee. Top 10 winners will receive trophies plus the crowd voted awards.

UPDATE: Elevator fire this afternoon in Adrian

At approximately 2:53 pm, Adrian Fire Department was dispatched on a grain elevator fire in Adrian at the corner of sixth & West Lexington Street. At 2:54 pm, upon arrival of the first Adrian Fire unit, the grain elevator was reported to be fully involved. 

Butler Fire Department responded a ladder truck on automatic mutual aid. As a safety precaution the railroad was contacted and asked to stop all rail traffic until the scene could be placed under control. The fire is believed to be accidental in nature and all fire units cleared at 4:57 pm.

The Adrian Fire Department extends our sincere thanks to all law enforcement agencies for responding and taking such quick action on controlling all traffic and allowing clear access for the additional incoming fire units.

Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, May 8 at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Heartland Hospice or Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. 

Vincent Michael Giacone, age 62 of Butler, Missouri died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his home in Butler. He was born November 24, 1952 to Benedict Vincent and Florence Louise Cotter Giacone in Kansas City, Missouri. 


Vincent is survived by his wife, Regina Giacone of Butler, Missouri; two sons, William Giacone and fiance` Mae Hill of Butler, Missouri and James "Tyler" Catron and wife Jessica of Clinton, Missouri; two brothers, John Giacone and wife Joyce of Belton, Missouri and Bobby Giacone of Butler, Missouri; a sister, Francie Scott and husband Larry of Butler, Missouri; and five grandchildren, Amy, Brianna, Domanic, Allison and Coby. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Chad Scott.
