Man wanted in St. Clair County

Mr. Palmer was out of jail on bond charged with a class B felony charge of child molestation-first degree, an unclassified felony charge of attempted statutory rape-fist degree, an unclassified felony charge of attempt sexual intercourse with another person under 14-years-old, three unclassified felony charges of statutory sodomy-first degree-deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 14-years-old, an unclassified felony charge of enticement of a child (actor is 21-years of age or older and child is less than 15-years-old), and a class C felony charge of sexual misconduct or attempt involving a child under 15-years-old second and subsequent offense.
The charges stem from an investigation that started in August 2014 after a hotline call to Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division was made concerning several alleged incidents that occurred between December 2012 and June 2013 when a child was staying at Palmer’s residence.
The Missouri State Technical Assistance Team and the Clinton Police Department assisted the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation.

Rollover accident south of Butler
Watch for high water in low lying areas
Much needed rain has also resulted in flooding in areas around the county including the railroad overpass west of the stoplight in Butler.
Water is also being reported over Pine street west of Orange street near the fire station and Rice road is temporarily closed as well.
Please use an alternate route and remember never to drive through high flowing water.
We will advise when roads are reopened.

Tractor Fire In Rich Hill
At approximately 5:56 pm this evening the Rich Hill Fire Department responded to a tractor on fire on SE CR365 & CR9006 in rural Rich Hill.
The tractor was a John Deere 8200 and it is unknown at this time the cause of the fire.
The fire was called under control at 6:17 pm and scene cleared by 6:42 pm.
The tractor had extensive damage to the cab and rear tire area. No injuries were reported.

9-year-old Butler boy who received thousands of get-well letters heads home after three months in hospital

9-year-old Alex Dewey spent the day making rounds in the burn unit and joking around with nurses. Alex even squirted some of them with water as he said goodbye.
During his stay at the hospital Alex received more mail than any other patient. More than 2,000 cards from people around the world flooded in to wish him a fast recovery.
"We got him through it, and he's the happiest little boy I have seen in the whole wide world,"Alex's grandmother Cynthia Matteson said.
Doctors say Alex has some challenges ahead as he continues his recovery at home.
Alex says he's looking forward to going to school and playing with his friends.

Reminder: Adrian City Wide Clean Up
The Adrian City wide trash pickup dates are set and will be conducted in the City of Adrian by Bates County Disposal on the following dates
Monday September 14th for all residents living South of Adrian Main Street, this includes the south side of Adrian Main Street
Monday September 21st for residents living North of Adrian Main Street, this includes the north side of Adrian Main Street.
Almost anything will be picked up except brush, tires, yard waste or building materials. . Have your items at the curbside no later than 6 am on the Monday of your clean up week in Adrian. The crews cannot make return trips after they have completed a street. The regular Adrian weekly trash should not be placed with these items. There will be one pickup load per Adrian household.
