Alecia Rachelle Johnson, 21 of Butler, Missouri passed away July 7, 2016 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bates County Sheriffs Office seeking publics help

The Bates County Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate a older model gray in color Pontiac car that was involved in a home burglary in the Butler area today.

The vehicle was said to have been occupied by a unknown black male driver and a white female passenger that is said to have several tattoos .

Flags at half staff at the BCSO
Today, with a heavy heart, I ordered the flag at the Bates County Sheriffs Office to be flown at half mass in honor of The Law Enforcment Officers who were killed yesterday.

I ask that you join our staff in prayers for those that have fallen, their families and their Police Departments.

Today courageous men and women across the country will have serious talks with their loved about their chosen profession. 


Rest assured that the men and women of the Bates County Sheriffs Office will continue to serve our citizens with the Respect and Honor you deserve. 

We will not coward down to the evils in this world.
 

Today we Stand for the Heros that have Fallen. Today we ask you to Stand with Us not against Us. God Bless You and God Bless America.

Nevada woman escapes serious injury in Bates County crash

On 7/7/16 around 6:30pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route D around 6 miles East of Passaic.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 20016 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 26 year old Kalinda R. Daniels of Nevada, Missouri swerved to miss a animal in the roadway causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway before returning to the roadway and overturning off the left side of the roadway.

Kalinda R. Daniels sustained minor injuries in this accident and she  refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle received extensive damage and was left at roadside.

Guilty plea in murder of Merwin man

Harley C. Lumpkins, 28, has plead guilty felony charges in the murder of Charles "Chuck" Keough in Merwin, Mo last August.

A police account of the incident says Lumpkins rendered Keough unconscious and later returned with a knife, stabbing the victim multiple times in the presence of Keough's family members.

Lumpkins plead guilty to felony counts of second-degree murder, burglary, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action. He was sentenced to 4, 10 and 25 year prison terms to be served concurrently.
