Bates County Memorial Hospital Employment Opportunities


Two vehicle accident on Northbound I-49 South of Butler

The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and Butler Fire Department are on scene of a two vehicle accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around Mile Marker 125.4 ( Rich Hill is Mile Marker 120)

The accident is said to be caused by one of the drivers having a possible medical condition.

One patient was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries

Osceola woman arrested in St. Clair County

Skyla Carroll

On Aug. 17, Skyla Carroll, 27, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class A misdemeanor hindering prosecution. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on June 26, when Carroll aided an individual who was known to be wanted on several felony warrants.

Rockville man arrested in St. Clair County

Clinton Oehring
On Aug. 17, Clinton Oehring, 25, Rockville, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class C felony possession of a controlled substance and class D felony resisting arrest for a felony. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an incident the previous day when St. Clair County deputies were on patrol on H Highway and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Oehring was driving. When contact was first made with Oehring he identified himself as another individual. 


During the investigation a clear glass container with residue inside that field tested positive for methamphetamine was located in his possession. While being taken into custody, Oehring fled on foot and was taken into custody after a short chase. A bag with a white powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine was also located in the vehicle.

Severe Storms Possible Friday Evening

Another warm day expected across the area as temperatures climb back into the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. 

Showers and storms will return to the area Friday evening as a cold front begins moving through the region. Some storms could be severe so please remain weather aware if you have outside activities planned. 

Following its passage, cooler air will settle into the region for the the remainder of the weekend and continue into early next week.

Summit School is one of the last remaining one-room school houses left in the area and still in good condition. Plans are to move the building to Poplar Heights Living History Farm. There is will be completely restored so that visitors can relieve the one-room school experience. Literacy, history and other educational programs are planned for children and adults utilizing this school house.
"Kegs, Corks and Forks" is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will be in the yard north of the Seelinger Home. In case of rain the dinner will be in the Threshing Barn. Get your tickets early for this great fall evening event. You must be 21 to attend.
