Obituary - Shania Lee Ashbaker

She graduated from Sanderson High School in 2014 where she lettered in track and basketball. She was also a school mascot. Shania was a vibrant young woman who was always full of energy. She had a loving and caring personality and worked hard to make sure she was raising her daughter, Savannah correctly. Shania was a wonderful mother and always put Savannah’s needs above her own.
Shania enjoyed listening to music, changing the color of her hair, and was known as being a just a little bit stubborn. She was a hard worker, was all about family and was very close to her sister, Dakota. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Cody Mayer, maternal grandfather, Richard Castagnola, and paternal grandfather, Darwin Ashbaker. Shania is survived by her daughter of the home, Savannah; mother, Kelly Castagnola of Nevada, MO; father, Kevin Ashbaker, Sanderson, TX; two sisters, Taylor Willis, Milford, UT, and Dakota Kaumans, El Dorado Springs; three brothers, Austin Mayer, Milford UT, Chevy Ashbaker, El Dorado Springs, and Jake Kaumans, El Dorado Springs; maternal grandmother, Beejay Ferguson, Arlington, KY; paternal grandmother Sandra Bassett, Sanderson, TX; extended family and many special friends.
Memorial services will be held in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel at a later date. Memorials may be made in her name to the Ferry Funeral Home.

Osceola man arrested on Class D Felony

The charges stem from an incident the previous day when St. Clair County deputies responded to SE 1147 Road, Osceola, in reference to an assault.
Witnesses stated Thrush allegedly drove by on an ATV cursing and threatening a couple in their yard. He stopped, drew a handgun and pointed it at a male individual while making threats to shoot and kill him.
Mr. Thrush holstered the handgun, walked into the individual’s yard and took a swing at male.
A fight ensued and multiple punches were exchanged. Thrush was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.

The charge stems from an incident in January when Richey allegedly purchased alcohol for a minor who was later arrested for minor in possession.
Rockville woman arrested after stabbing woman in arm with fork

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation the previous day when a deputy was dispatched to Ellett Memorial Hospital, Appleton City, in reference to an assault.
A female victim reported Oehring became angry and stabbed her in the arm with a large barbecue style fork.
