William "Bill" Martin Day
William "Bill" Martin Day age 95 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri surrounded with family and love. 

Services are pending under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

A complete obituary and service times will be posted here as soon as that information becomes available.

One vehicle accident on I-49

The Bates County Sheriff's Office along with Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County and the Butler Fire Department are on scene of a one vehicle accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 at Mile Marker 125.2 ( Rich Hill is Mile Marker120).

We are unsure at this time of any injuries associated with this accident and the nature of the accident is said to be one vehicle that is of roadway and down a ditch.

Kansas City Kansas man arrested after police pursuit in two counties

On 8/27/16 around 3:30pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol placed 26 year old Evan L. Corder of Kansas City, Kansas under arrest after a multi county police chase.

Mr. Corder was charged with 1.) Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop by fleeing 2.) Creating a substantial risk of injury or death to another person 3.) Felony resisting a police officer.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail and he is currently listed on a 24 hour investigative hold with several more charges pending.

Please save the date for the First Annual Fundraiser

Saturday, September 24 at 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Remembrance Walk for Scharlie Cantrell. Our mission is to bring awareness and help to those who suffer from mental illness and the prevention of suicide. For this event we will have t-shirts and bracelets available for $25 for all prepaid entries. 

For those who were unable to purchase beforehand we will have extras at first come first serve basis for the $25 entry fee. I will be adding a Paypal link very soon as I realize not everyone has checks now and will be easier for your charitable donation.

Please note that you do not have to walk to participate. Bring your lawn chair, and hang around to visit and join in on what we plan to be a laid back and fun evening. We are also offering to any business sponsor a $30 entry fee or $20 entry fee with a $10 raffle item to come and set up a booth, sell products, advertise with free items, or to place an advertising sign.

We are planning prizes and fun for all ages. More details to come.

As we grow we will also be making limited donations to KC Pet Project, one of Scharlie’s favorite non-profit, no kill shelters.
