Walley selected for All-State volleyball team

Congratulations to Anna Walley on her selection to the All-State Volleyball Team. She is 1 of 26 girls in Class 2 that were selected for this honor.

Anna is the daughter of Jay and Rhonda Walley of Adrian.

Butler Youth Wrestling Sign Ups will be Saturday November 5, 2016 from 12pm -2pm at the Butler Alternative School. 

This will be the last sign up of the year!

Sheriff Anderson at it again!

The Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson has reduced the CCW permit fee for attendees of the free November 5th class.

If you have not registered for the class we recommend you do so today. Space is limited and the class is filling fast.

The fee to receive the license will be reduced from $100 to $50 for attendees of the class.

Call today this may be the last free class hosted by the Sheriffs Office and may be the last reduced fee class!!

Appleton City woman arrested in St. Clair County

On Oct. 31, Charla Rice, 45, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging her with class C felony burglary-second degree. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Oct. 27 when deputies took a report stolen items from a residence on North Beech Street, Appleton City. 


Christina Souza reported medication was missing from her bedroom. Further investigation revealed Rice entered into the Souza's residence without permission. 

While inside she enter the bedroom and opened the dresser drawer and stole four to five tablets of a generic form of Vicodin.      

One vehicle rollover accident on I-49 in the Rich Hill area

The Missouri State Highway in Bates County along with the Bates County Sheriff's Office are on scene of a one vehicle rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 at Mile Marker 120.

Please use caution if you must travel in this area as several emergency personnel are on scene.

Stolen 4 wheeler recovered in Bates County

On 10/26/2016 Bates County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an investigation in the Settlers Ford Conservation Area. 

This investigation lead Bates County investigators to a residence located at 12343 NE 15004 Urich road. 

Once at the residence the Bates County Sheriff Office located and recovered a 2014 Yamaha Four wheeler. 

The four wheeler was stolen from a residence located in Cass County.

Charges are pending at this time.
