Max Motors Butler hosting a Veterans Day Chili Cook-off

Max Motors in Butler will be hosting a Veterans Day Chili Cook-off on Friday, November 11, 2016, 10:45 am.

When: Veterans Day starting at 10:45 am.

Details: We currently have 15 entrants and will be adding more, if you think you have the "best batch" and would like to enter the contest please contact Josh Griffin at 660-679-6567! There will be giveaways, a 50/50 raffle and Live Entertainment from Local Artist Billy Claycomb! We look forward to a meet and greet with our True American Hero’s. Our VETERANS, but our invite is not limited to just our Vets, come out enjoy some gourmet chili, great music and meet our great staff and management team.

Wasteland set to rock in Cass County

Join local Butler band Wasteland for our 2nd time playing at The Frog Pond in Peculiar Mo. 

The concert will start at 8:30pm -1230am on November 19, 2016

Compass Health Wellness Dental Clinic

Compass Health Wellness Dental Clinic is part of a Missouri non-profit organization that is now offering dental services to Butler R-V School District.  

If you would like your child's teeth to be examined at our dental clinic at Butler Elementary on November 15th and 16th, please have your child ask their teacher for the necessary paperwork to be filled out and returned to the school nurse.  

The school nurse will bring your child to our office located inside the school.  Compass Health Wellness Dental Clinic accepts MC+/Medicaid insurance.

Marsha Denise Davis, 49, Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at her home.

She is survived by her 3 children, Kathrine Hansen and significant other, Blayne Kesse, Atchison, Kansas, Russell Barr, Warrensburg, Missouri, Angela Barr, Kansas City, Missouri; a granddaughter, Amber Spradley; 5 brothers, Michael Wheeler, Bonner Springs, Missouri, Lawrence Wheeler, Kansas City, Missouri, Lance Wheeler, St. Clair, Missouri, Matthew Wheeler, Hays, Kansas, Stephen Wheeler II, Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Leslie Spegal, Kansas City, Missouri, Lisa Swigart, Archie, Missouri, Mercie Ritter, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 6:30 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

At The Pennell in Butler this weekend

The Pennell located on the Northwest side of the historic Butler Square ( Old Tiona's Inn Building) will be hosting a live music event with Knock kneed Sally starting at 8pm on Friday November 11th and Saturday November 12th at 8pm as well. 

Knock Kneed Sally: Original Bluesy Americana, home based in the Midwest. Knock Kneed Sally continue to have an ever growing following headlining festivals like King Biscuit and shows everywhere. Fronted by Stovepipe Perkins this is a fun fun super tight band.

November 2016 Election: Are you ready?

Chances are, you're ready for it to be over...

Not too long from now we'll know who will be the next sitting President of the United states, as well as the winners and losers of state and other races as well.


Locally, Bates County will have a new coroner- which also has been a highly visible contest.

Mid America Live will be publishing local results from the Bates County Courthouse beginning as soon as the ballots start to arrive around 7 pm. Results will be posted via a Facebook link and will also be available by clicking the 'Election Results' link at the top of our home page.

Don't forget (for your entertainment) local figures Mark Muller and Kay Caskey will be debating their political views at the Union Restaurant on the Butler square tomorrow night at 7 pm.
