Montrose man seriously injured after Cass County accident

On 12/1/16 around 8:24am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded o a one vehicle rollover accident on Missouri 7 Highway just South of Freedom Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2005 Chevrolet driven by 31 year old Hilton T. McCulloch of Montrose, Missouri traveled off the roadway and overturned coming to rest on its top.

Mr. McCulloch sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by air ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.

Butler woman arrested on theft warrant

Kori L. Foster
On 12/01/16 around 10:07am the Bates County Sheriffs Office arrested 41 year old Kori L. Foster of Butler, Missouri.

She was arrested for 1.) Warrant for Theft Less than $500 - First offence.

Kori L. Foster was booked into the Bates County Jail and placed on a $350 Cash Only Bond.

Police in Cass County searching for man who fled after pursuit

The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies just ended a pursuit of a stolen maroon 4 door car that came back stolen out of Oklahoma.

The pursuit which reached speeds of 110mph has just ended in a rollover accident on Northbound I-49 around Mile Marker 176.4 which is North of Belton, Missouri. 

The suspect is a white male who is wearing a red hoodie and black pants at this time and he may have possibly stole a red in color Ford F-250 with a unknown Kansas Tag.

Obituary - Kathy Elaine Edwards

Kathy Elaine Edwards, 68, Nevada, MO passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Nevada Nursing and Rehab in Nevada. Kathy was born July 13, 1948 in Liberty, MO to Joseph Wayne and Mildred Annette (Atwood) Pauling. 

Kathy was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in the Class of 1966. Following high school she was married to Phill Edwards and moved to Independence, MO where she raised her son, Wayne. She later move to Lexington, MO during which time she worked at the Ray County Memorial Hospital for 14 years and also devoted her life to caregiving for her aunt Doris Hall and her mother Mildred Pauling. She has resided back in Nevada since 2006.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Edwards and his wife Kesha, Nevada; four grandchildren, Tyler Edwards, Haley Edwards, Payton Edwards, Korbyn Edwards; one sister; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, KS with Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call from now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.



Stolen truck and trailer in Archie

Have you seen this truck and trailer that was stolen this morning from a shop in Archie.
The truck is a black 2002 Ford F250 extend cab with a gold color on the bottom.
The trailer is a horse trailer that says "caution flying horse shit" on the back.

Updated: House fire last night in Rich Hill

Rich Hill - The Rich Hill Fire Department responded late Wednesday evening at 2026 hours to a fire at 510 Oak Street where a single family residential dwelling was found with smoke showing upon arrival. Firefighters from Butler Fire Department also responded. The home was occupied at time of the fire. 

The fire was extinguished without incident. No injuries to report.
The fire was quickly taken under control but not before moderate fire and smoke damage occurred. 

The fire was under control at 2119 hours. Local authorities conducted the investigation on cause and origin of fire, which appears to not to be suspicious.

Man arrested in Rich Hill this morning

Around 6:15am this morning the Bates County Sheriff's Office along with Rich Hill Police Department responded to Pumpin Pete's Gas Station in Rich Hill on a report of a female being held by a male against her will.

When police arrived on scene the female victim who had escaped the male and called the police advised that a male had been holding her against her will. Officers made contact with the unknown male in the parking lot.

The vehicle he was in came back stolen and the male subject was taken into police custody.

When officers searched the stolen vehicle they discovered several firearms and drugs. The vehicle is still be processed at this time and a full investigation is pending.
