Obituary - May E. Wiskur

May E. Wiskur, age 100 years, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Clinton, Missouri.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri.  

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2017 also at the Chapel.  Interment will be in Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, Missouri.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Leeton United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.  Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

May was born August 4, 1916 in Appleton City, Missouri the daughter of George and Laura (Muller ) Harms.  During WWII she worked on the line at the International Shoe Factory in Windsor, Missouri.  Her later years were spent as a homemaker.  She enjoyed spending time gardening, quilting, and reading Bible verses.  May was very religious.  She prayed everyday.

May was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence, a son, Kenneth, 3 siblings; Leonard Harms, Cora Elliott, and Lillie Harris, and a sister-in-law, Madeline Harms.

Survivors include her children, Henry Wiskur (Thea) of Leeton, Missouri and Janet Akers (Roy) of Clinton, Missouri, a brother, Calvin Harms of Lexington, Missouri, 5 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, as well as several great great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.

One injured in Cass County crash

 On 2/6/17 around 8:25am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 7 Highway around .5 miles North of 227th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 GMC driven by 33 year old Timberly L. Lappin of Blue Springs, Missouri was Southbound on Missouri 7 Highway when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a driveway causing the vehicle to become airborne and strike a tree and fence before coming to rest.

Timberly L. Lappin sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.

Peggy Sue Danahy of Creighton, Missouri was born May 13, 1940 in West Plains, Missouri the daughter of Wendell and Juanita (Hopkins) Mahan. She departed this life on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 21 days.

On September 6, 1958, Peggy was united in marriage to James Richard Danahy in West Plains, Missouri.

Peggy was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church near Garden City, Missouri. Peggy enjoyed sewing and traveling.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Danahy on December 3, 2001; a great-grandson, Keith Daniels Spinning and a brother, Dwayne Mahan.

Peggy is survived by her two sons, Ron Danahy and wife Nancy, Creighton, Missouri, Patrick Danahy and wife JoAnn, Oak Grove, Missouri; two daughters, Dena Stockman and husband Mike, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Donna Danahy, Kansas City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis Mahan and a sister, Linda Taylor both of West Plains, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Union Hill Cemetery, West Plains, Missouri.

Kathleen K. (King) Goss
Kathleen K. (King) Goss of Harrisonville was born March 9, 1950 in Butler Missouri the daughter to Everett L. and Charlotte F. (Groves) King. She departed this life on Friday, February 03, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House at the age of 66 years.

She resided in Rich Hill until the family moved to Harrisonville where she went to school and eventually graduated from Harrisonville high in 1968. On October 12, 1968, Kathleen was united in marriage to John E. Goss Jr. in Harrisonville.

Kathy was employed at Allan Bank & Trust Co. / Country Club Bank and eventually retired from the bank in 2007. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, and Grandmother who loved cheering on her son's and grandchildren's athletic events. She also enjoyed spending time boating, fishing, swimming, and long walks with John at their lake house and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Goss Jr. on April 26, 2014; brother Kevin L. King and Father Everett L. King

Kathy is survived by her two sons Jeffrey S. Goss and wife Stephanie, Harrisonville Missouri, Steven A. Goss and wife Tiffany, Raymore, Missouri six grandchildren Baylee, Jarett, Peyton, Jacob, Lucas, and Ryan; her mother, Charlotte King, Harrisonville Missouri and sister Carol Rouse, Joplin Missouri, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.

Leland E. Fuller, 70, of Cleveland, Missouri died Saturday, February 4, 2017 at his home. A Memorial gathering of fellowship and food will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Cleveland Christian Church in Cleveland, Missouri.
