Congratulations Anna Walley of Adrian


Today's featured student/athlete recruit for Cottey College is Anna Walley from Adrian, MO. Anna will be providing height and aggressive play in the MH and/or OH positions for this fall! Some of her recognition's for volleyball include: First Team All-Conf, All-Dist, and All-Reg for 2 years running, as well as Honorable Mention for 2 years as an All-State selection! She was her team captain for 2 years and was named to the MO-KAN All-Star team. She enjoys playing basketball and has earned State Qualifier, MSHSAA Sportsmanship Award, and Dedicated Field/Event athlete in track for discus throwing. Anna is a member of the Adrian Honor Roll, NHS, Academic All-State (4 yrs), FCA, FBLA, FCCLA, Girls State, and Church youth group 4-H.





Arrest made in Garden City today

At about 11:45am today, Officers of the Garden City Police Department attempted to locate two individuals wanted by another jurisdiction. During a search, officers contacted a 34 year old man from Clinton in the 400 block of Beach Street. 

A records check revealed the Clinton man has warrants for his arrest out of Independence, Missouri for assault. 

The man was taken into custody and transported to the Belton City Jail without incident. Officers also located one of the fugitives. The second fugitive is not believed to be in the Garden City area.

Osceola woman injured in St. Clair County crash

On 2/12/17 around 12:50pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Southbound Lanes of Missouri 13 Highway around 3 miles North of Lowry City, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1997 Nissan truck driven by 69 year old Maetta Walker of Osceola, Missouri traveled off the left side of the road into the median, striking a road sign and overturning.

Maetta Walker sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Citizen's Memorial Hospital in Bolivar for treatment.

The truck was totaled and towed from the scene by Bray's Towing of Osceola, Missouri.

The Garden City Fire Department is currently working a out of control grass fire at this time.

The location of this fire is off of 297th Street and O'Bannon Road.

We are unsure of the cause of this fire at this time.

Local fire crews would like to remind you to refrain from burning until weather conditions improve.
