Springfield man escapes injury in Bates County crash

On 3/15/17 around 10:29pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Missouri 52 Highway around County Road 1086.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Acura TL driven by 71 year old Richard D. Bender of Springfield, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway, driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn.

Mr. Bender sustained minor injuries in this accident and he refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Bulldog Tow of Appleton City, Missouri.

Clinton man arrested on Cass County Warrant

On 3/15/17 around 3:16pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 35 year old Dustin Phelps of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Phelps was arrested for 1.) Felony Arrest Warrant - Cass County Sheriffs Office.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail and later bonded out.

Jackknifed semi truck East of Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Bates County EMS are on scene of a jackknifed semi truck blocking the roadway at this time.

The location of this accident is on Missouri 18 Highway and Z Highway East of Adrian.

 Rebecca (Becky) Marie King
Rebecca (Becky) Marie King, of La Due, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 13th, 2017 at the St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at 7 PM at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, MO. 

Visitation will be from 6-7 PM at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Rebecca King Memorial Fund and can be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Becky was born March 14, 1986 in Clinton, Missouri the daughter of Chester and Georgia King. Becky was a member of the La Due Christian Church. She was a 2005 graduate of Clinton High School. She also loved to color, watch movies, and enjoyed visiting with people.

Survivors include her parents Chester and Georgia King, of the home. Brother Travis King, of Clinton, MO, and grandmother Edith Colby of Clinton, MO, as well as a host of friends and family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home , Clinton, MO

Belton man injured in Henry County semi truck accident

On 3/15/17 around 11:30am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County responded to a one vehicle semi truck rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of Missouri 7 Highway just west of NW County Road 1501 in rural Creighton.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Kenworth driven by 55 year old Aaron A. Smart of Belton, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned.

Mr. Smart sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Belton Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The semi truck was totaled and towed from the scene by Golden Valley Tow of Clinton, Missouri.

Rich Hill man arrested in Cass County

On 3/15/17 around 9:45am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 28 year old Kyle A. Thompson of Rich Hill, Missouri.

Mr. Thompson was arrested for 1.) Felony Unlawful use of a firearm 2.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Cass County Jail in Harrisonville and placed on a 24 hour investigative hold.
