Large quantity of meth and cash seized in Henry County

Travis Hankins
Robert Summers

Items Seized

On Wednesday, March 22, 2017 just before 10:00 a.m. Deputy Lambirth conducted a traffic stop on Circle Drive in Windsor after the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. The passenger in the vehicle also threw out an object from the vehicle just prior to the stop.

The subsequent investigation by Deputy Lambirth revealed that the object thrown from the vehicle contained nearly one pound of a white crystal substance believe to be methamphetamine.

During the arrest of the two occupants in the vehicle, Deputy Lambirth found a loaded handgun and several items of drug paraphernalia. Also over $5,500.00 in cash was taken from the two subjects as evidence.

Arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal use of a weapon were Robert Summers, age 32 of Windsor and Travis Hankins, age 30 of Leeton. Both subjects were currently on probation at the time of this arrest and probation violation warrants have been issued on both subjects for them to be held without bond at this time.

Sheriff Oberkrom said, "This is a significant disruption of the methamphetamine drug business in the Windsor community and we will continue to do our part to battle the drug trafficking in Henry County." The street value of methamphetamine seized is estimated to be $45,000 dollars.

Two Vernon County residents seriously injured in Cass County rollover accident

On 3/22/17 around 10:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 at mile marker 162 in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2014 Dodge Ram driven by 65 year old John J. Spencer of Sheldon, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned.

Mr. Spencer along with a passenger in his vehicle 60 year old Debra S. Potter of Nevada, Missouri both sustained serious injuries and both were transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow.
