Obituary - Bill "Big Willie" Reed

Bill "Big Willie" Reed, 49, of Pleasant Hill, departed this life, Saturday, March 25, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Services are pending under the care of Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Applications can be picked up at City Hall(22 W Ohio St, Butler MO 64730). Applications must be turned in by April 7th. 

This will allow plenty of time for us to review the applications and call to set up interviews.

Joplin man injured in Bates County crash

On 3/26/17 around 1:50pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with the Bates County Sheriff's Office responded to a one vehicle accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 around Mile Marker 131.4 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2008 Nissan driven by 22 year old Beau R. Scroggins of Joplin, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.

Mr. Scroggins sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle received extensive damages in this accident and it was towed from the scene by Douty's Tow of Butler, Missouri.
