Update: Search continues in Cass County

Today investigators were able to complete a search of the target area which consisted of approximately 15 acres in rural Cass County.

Investigators narrowed the field of operations to approximately 2 acres that they have spent an increased amount of time concentrating their examination.
At this time we are planning on returning Friday with a scaled down number of specialized crime scene technicians and investigators.

Because this case is connected with KCPD active homicide investigation we won’t be releasing information about what has been recovered at the scene. Any human remains will continue to be sent to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Mid America Live News will continue to update when information is made available to us.
