Sherwood School District announcement: Keeping children and staff safe at school is a primary goal of ours. During the year we practice multiple drills to help prepare students and staff for a variety of situations that can occur. Today the District held an "intruder" drill and locked the schools down. Construction Scam around the Nevada Area!

The Nevada Police Department has received reports of a possible construction scam in our area.

Reports state that a slender, blonde, male with a crew cut has been contacting citizens in reference to driveway, parking lot, and sealing jobs.

The individual is driving a white in color crew cab pick-up and operating under the name of Sawyer Construction.

The individual is not licensed with the City of Nevada, and is wanted in other jurisdictions for deceptive business practices. The subject will take payment and schedule a work date at a later time. The company that comes will then demand payment as well. This is a scam and citizens should not pay in advance anyone or any business with whom you are not familiar.

Citizen are encouraged to contact police if this subject or vehicle is seen in your neighborhood.
