Nevada Speedway set to open this Saturday
After weeks of getting cancelled, we are excited that it looks like we're going to have our 2017 Season Opening night this Saturday May 6th!! Make plans now to attend this Saturday night here with us at the Nevada Speedway!! We are excited for the drivers and fans to witness what has been going on this off season. Drivers, don't forget that you can print off and fill out the registration form or try to be at the track early on Saturday to fill one out if not filled out already. It can also be emailed in. Thank you.
All seven weekly classes will be racing (Mini Stocks/FWD, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Mods, B-Mods, A-Mods and Late Models).

From the Nevada Police Department
The Nevada Police Department is now accepting applications for our Police Cadet Program. This program provides youth interested in a career in law enforcement the opportunity to experience and learn the various aspects of police work.
The program will meet on a regular basis during the evening hours at the Nevada Police Department.
Applications are available at the Nevada Police Department and will be accepted on a continuous basis until program capacity is met.
Minimum qualifications:
•Desire to pursue a career in law enforcement
•Must be at least 14 years of age and not older than 20 years of age
•Attending high school and maintaining a minimum 2.5 grade point average, or have a high school diploma or equivalent
•No prior criminal arrests or convictions
•Be able to pass a background investigation
•Possess a valid Missouri driver’s license if eligible

James was born July 31, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Wilbert O. L. and Goldie L. (Fields) Coonce. He worked for the Southview Golf Course in Belton, MO as a grounds keeper.
James is survived by his mother, Goldie Coonce, Rich Hill, MO; one brother, Kenneth Coonce (Barbara), Rich Hill, MO, and one sister, Bonnie Hall, Independence, MO.
The Warriors Invite You
West Central Warriors fans are invite to come out and help support the Warriors in thanking the Butler R-5 School District for allowing us to use Deaton Thomas Field on Saturday May 6th.
This week all ticket/admission money will be donated to the school.

During the Deputy’s search he located several items that were used for inhaling drugs. He also found a baggie that had a clear crystalline substance inside it.
All of the items found were field tested with a positive result for methamphetamines.
Miller was placed under arrest for possession of methamphetamine and was transported to the Bates County Jail.
Miller was charged with Possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety. He also received a citation for operating a motor vehicle without financial responsibility.
