Harrisonville teen injured in one vehicle Cass County Accident

On 11/3/17 around 9:45am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle accident on S. Lexington Road just south of E 239th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by 17 year old Dominic E. McCoy of Harrisonville, Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch.

Mr. McCoy sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by a private tow.

Obituary - Arlene Frances Koons

Arlene Frances Koons, 63, Nevada, MO passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Medicalodges in Nevada following a lengthy illness. Arlene was born March 18, 1954 in Lakeville, MN to George and Shirley (Simonds) Nesbett. On July 20, 2002 she was united in marriage to Bill Koons in Eureka Springs, AR and they celebrated 15 years together.

Arlene grew up in Lakeville, MN. She attended St. Catherine’s University and studied Occupational Therapy. Arlene worked at Nevada Habilitation Center, Nevada Regional Medical Center, and Key Rehab until her retirement. She was a member of the Occupational Therapy Association.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; step-children; Renne Wright of Warrensburg, MO, Anna Koons of Centerview, MO, Micah Koons of El Dorado Springs, MO, several step-grandchildren; her mother, Shirley Nesbett of Longsdale, MN; one sister Anita Harnack of Northfield, MN; her brothers Harold Nesbett of Boise, ID, Gerald Nesbett of Savage, MN, and Milton Nesbett of St. Louis Park, MN; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her father, George Nesbett, and her first husband Barney Jeans.

A Memorial Service is planned for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home with Lawrence Cripps officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service.

Memorials are suggested to S. Catherine's University in c/o Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Sheldon resident arrested after pursuit ends in cornfield

Warrants have been issued following a vehicle pursuit Thursday afternoon with Sheriff’s Deputies. Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher says 23-year-old Landon G Wilson, of Sheldon Mo, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon when Wilson fled after a Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of 1800 Rd and Noah Road. 

Mosher says the vehicle drove into a corn field near Stockade Rd and 2300 Rd where Wilson attempted to flee but was found in the area a short time later. 

Mosher said a passenger was also in the vehicle but no charges have been filed pending the completion of the investigation.

Wilson has been charged with Driving While Revoked and Resisting Arrest. His bond was set at $5,000 cash only.

Mark P. Young, 43 of Peculiar, Missouri passed away November 2, 2017 at his home in Peculiar. Cremation, with private family inurnment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Several arrests made at Million Dollar Fantasy Ranch

Johnson County Sheriff's Office
On 11-02-2017 at approximately 2350 hours, Johnson County Deputies along with the Johnson County Joint Swat Team consisting of members from the Sheriff's Office, Warrensburg Police Department as well as member from the Johnson County Ambulance District, executed a Search Warrant on the Million Dollar Fantasy Ranch, an Adult Entertainment Club located on US 50 highway west of Warrensburg.
As a result of the Search Warrant, six individuals were arrested and are currently being held on a 24-hour hold, for Patronizing Prostitution, Sexual Misconduct, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Drug Paraphernalia.
The identity of the six individuals are not being released until the filing of Official Charges with the Court by the Johnson County Prosecutor Robert Russell.
This investigation is still on-going. This is a perfect example how different law enforcement agencies work together to get the job done. This operation made a statement to those involved that this type of criminal activities will not be tolerated.
