Obituary - Truman Lee Coleman

Truman Lee Coleman, 71, of Mound City, Kansas died at his home on Sunday, November 5, 2017.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at First Baptist Church, Mound City. Burial will follow in Mapleton Cemetery, Mapleton, Kansas. 

A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Schneider Funeral Homes and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.

Butler woman arrested in Bates County

Ashley L. Jeffries
On 11/6/17 around 4:42pm Ashley L. Jeffries 30 years old from Butler, Missouri was arrested.

She was arrested for 1.) Possession of a Controlled Substance 2.)Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia 3.) Failure to display plates on a vehicle.

Ashley Jeffries was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler, Missouri and placed on a $10,000 Cash/Surety bond.

Obituary - Wayne M. Nickl

Wayne M. Nickl, 90, Nevada, MO passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2017 at Medicalodges of Nevada. Wayne was born June 10, 1927 in Canton, KS, the second child of Karl and Olive Nickl.

Wayne left home when he was sixteen and moved to Hillsboro, KS where he worked for Hillsboro Creamery. He later moved to El Dorado, KS where he worked: construction, in the oilfields, the auto body repair industry and at a gasoline station.

 He met and married Catherine Demo in August of 1945. Following WW2 Wayne joined the Army and shipped out to Korea as part of the Occupied Forces. When Wayne returned from active duty he was hired by Kansas Gas Service and worked there in a number of positions for 42 years. He retired in 1990 but continued to use his skills as a welder to design and create horse/cattle feeders.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother, and his wife. He is survived by his children; Terry Nickl, Wichita, KS; Cheryl Beyer (Joseph) Nevada; Deanna Olsen (Paul) Bailey, CO; and Marc Nickl, Savannah, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Ferry Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Memorials may be made to “ETA THETA” in care of Susan Beeman at the First National Bank, 100 W Walnut, Nevada, MO 64772 or in care of the Ferry Funeral Home.
