Clinton man arrested in Henry County

On 5/13/18 around 1:47pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 44 year old Frank C. Russell of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Russell was arrested for 1.) Resisting Arrest/Interfering with a arrest 2) No seatbelt.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail in Clinton and placed on a $500 bond.

Cleveland man arrested in Bates County

On 5/12/18 around 2:01pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 31 year old Christopher C. Zumwalt of Cleveland, Missouri.

Mr. Zumwalt was arrested for 1.) Felony Possession of a control substance 2.)Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and later released.

Obituary - Lula Pauline Wallace

Lula Pauline Wallace, 83, of Raytown, Missouri was born, July 5, 1934 in Ozark County, Missouri, the daughter of Doin Vernie and Lela Uldena (Scott) Watson. She departed this life, Friday, May 11, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Pauline was a 1952 Gainesville, Missouri high school graduate.

In December 1952, she was united in marriage to Lexie Sterlin Wallace in Mountain Home, Arkansas; they later divorced.

Pauline was employed as an Assembly Line Worker for Western Electric in Lee’s Summit. She had also co-owned and operated Club 82 in Osceola, Missouri, and was a hostess at the Copper Kettle in Raytown. She enjoyed square dancing, browsing antique shops, collecting antique glassware, and lots and lots of Longaberger baskets. She liked to read, enjoyed her home, and loved spending time with family.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Alice and Maggie Lou.

She is survived by her son, Lexie (and Elizabeth) Wallace of Raytown; two daughters, Pamela (and Ralph) Smith of Overland Park, Kansas, and Nelita (and Steve) Greufe of Pleasant Hill; 8 grandchildren, David (and Jennifer) Jones of Overland Park, Bethany (and Bill) Smith of Platte City, Missouri, Daniel (and Katherine) Webster of Alexandria, Virginia, Blake Greufe and Brett Greufe, both of Pleasant Hill, Clint Wallace of Kansas City, Missouri, Candyss (and Ross) Camarda of Grain Valley, Missouri, and John (and Kate) Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren, Christian Jones, Elyse Jones, Annabelle Jones, Hudson Jones, Liberty Smith, Justice Smith, Emily Camarda, Jane Camarda, Celia Camarda, and Ian Smith; three brothers, Delmas Watson of Noble, Missouri, Darrel Watson of Nottinghill, Missouri, and H.B. Watson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; three sisters, Lorine Huitt of Leavenworth, Evelyn Evans of Squires, Missouri, and Jenice (and Johnny) Pollock of Blum, Texas; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home where visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers are Blake Greufe, Brett Greufe Christian Jones, David Jones, Clint Wallace, and Daniel Webster.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Obituary - Bob Wayland

Funeral services for Bob Wayland will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler. Visitation will be immediately prior to services from 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday at the chapel. Burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler with Military Honors. Bobbie Lee Wayland, age 91, passed quietly to his eternal reward on Friday, May 11, 2018. Bob was born to Ruth and Henry Wayland on August 30, 1926. He grew up on a farm east of Butler, Missouri, and had many fond memories of his early years. During World War II, he enlisted in the Navy, left the farm, and served on the SS Sierra in the Pacific as a radioman. After returning home, he worked at various jobs until 1951 when he began his career with the Post Office. He retired in 1992 as Assistant Postmaster after 41 years of service. In 1950 Bob married Sunie Harbert and they had three children. In 1971 he married Juanita Mahaffey and became ‘Dad’ to her two daughters. Bob and Juanita were married for 43 happy years until her passing in 2014. He married Barbara Mitchell in 2015.

Bob Wayland truly loved God, family, country, and community. He was always active in any church he attended, teaching Bible Classes and seldom missing a service. He was an active member of the Butler Rotary and was proud of the service they provide to the community. He also served the community as a member of the Butler Bear Booster Club, Meals on Wheels, driving the Senior Citizen’s Taxi, and donating blood for as long as he was able. He enjoyed his later years spending time at the Senior Center, especially playing cards. Each summer Bob spent many hours in his garden, generously sharing the produce.

As he went about his daily activities, Bob was always whistling, humming, or singing songs, especially hymns. He loved being around his family. He was most happy when he could combine family gatherings and the singing of hymns.

Bob is survived by his wife Barbara Wayland of Butler, Missouri; two sons, Brad Wayland and wife Micki of Raymore, Missouri, and Tim Wayland and wife Sharon of Olathe, Kansas; two daughters, Vicki Peterson and husband Rusty of San Angelo, Texas, and Jane Garrett and husband Dennis of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Chris Peterson, Mistie Brooks, Drew Peterson, Brad Wayland, Jr., Leslie Cook, Kelsey Hilton, Joshua Wayland, Jacob Wayland, and Kenton Garrett; 18 great grandchildren and two sisters, Jeannette Shocklee of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bonnie White of Atlanta, Georgia.

Subject is approximately 5'9" or 5'10" was last seen going North from Lake Road and Broadway.
