One arrested after altercation with police in Henry County

The subject of the warrant had threatened violence towards law enforcement in the past.
At the residence, the subject of the warrants, Cody James Jennings, age 27, Windsor, exited the rear of the residence attempting to flee law enforcement officers. However, deputies were awaiting his exit and chased him back into the residence where Jennings entered a bedroom and closed the door. As deputies entered the bedroom, Jennings had armed himself with a knife. Deputies are able to disarm Jennings and take him into custody.
Jennings has three probation violations warrants on originals charges of possession of a controlled substance, burglary 2nd degree and resisting arrest. All of the state charges have a $5,000.00 cash only bond on each charge. Jennings also had a Clinton Municipal warrant for stealing.
Jennings remains incarcerated in the Henry County Detention Center as he is not able to post the required bonds.

Butler man arrested after fleeing police on foot

When officers made contact at the house Mr. Pickens exited the back door of the residence and was met by officer who told him to walk over to the gate and come out.
Mr. Pickens fled on foot several blocks to the north of College Street before he was taken into custody.
Christopher Pickens was booked into the Bates County Jail and is currently being held on no bond with charges of:
- 1st Degree Burglary (x3)
- Violation of a adult protection order - 1st offence
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (X2)

Osceola man injured in Henry County rollover accident
On 9/19/18 around 11:20pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route ZZ just north of CR881.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2018 Dodge driven by 40 year old Dale A. Roberts of Osceola, Missouri failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway causing the vehicle to overturn.
Mr. Roberts sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by Golden Valley EMS to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by C&H Tow.

Obituary - John Gursick
John Gursick, 52, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Tuesday morning, September 18, 2018, as the result of a motorcycle accident in rural Pettis County, Mo.
He was born April 20, 1966, in Marceline, Mo., the son of James Dale West and Edna Fern Keeton. On June 20, 1992, in Sedalia, Mo., he married Sara Lane Stratton and she survives of the home.
John was a 1984 graduate of Windsor High School. He served in the United States Army from 1992 to 1996. He was employed by Fisher’s Concrete in Sedalia, Mo., for a number of years. John had been a motorcycle enthusiast since an early age and loved to ride and work on his bike. Mechanically inclined, he also worked on cars and was handy at fixing nearly everything. He was always willing to help anyone in need, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his wife and son, Nicholas.
In addition to his wife, Sara of the home, survivors include their son, Nicholas of the home; his mother, Edna Fern Gursick, who joined him shortly in Heaven; 2 sisters, Gloria Dority, Windsor, Mo.; and Pam Swearngin (Richard), Lincoln, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Shirley Stratton, Green Ridge, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Phillip Stratton, Elkhorn, Nebraska; 4 nephews, Michael Dority, Windsor, Mo., Larry Nickerson, Kansas City, Kansas, Joseph Swearngin, Santa Barbara, California; and Will Stratton, Elkhorn, Ne.; 3 nieces, Ally, Jill, and Josie Stratton, Elkhorn, Ne.; a great-niece Jamie Dority; 2 great-nephews, Rome and Rhys Nickerson; a great-great-nephew, Luke; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his father-in-law, Bill Stratton.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Assembly of God of Windsor with Chaplain Bobby Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Union-Williams Cemetery, Cole Camp, Missouri. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor. A memorial fund has been established for John’s son, Nicholas, and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
