This week for Harrisonville Police Department Wanted Wednesday we are looking for Amy Boyer-Rinker who is a 39 year old female from Harrisonville.

Amy is wanted for 18 failure to appear warrants out of Harrisonville Municipal Court for charges such as Resisting Arrest, Assault, and Trespassing to name a few. She has no bond allowed on several of the warrants.

She also has a felony warrant out of Cass County for Receiving Stolen Property, with a bond amount of $4,000, 10% cash only.

Missing Date: February 27, 1991

Cheryl Kenney was last seen at work at a convenience store on business 71 Highway in Nevada, Missouri, on the evening of February 27, 1991. Her time card showed she clocked out at 10:00, but she did not arrive home. Her car was left in the store parking lot. Cheryl has a unique tooth pattern.

Inmate dies in Cass County Jail

On Monday evening around 8:30pm the Cass County Sheriff's Office Detention Officers found a unresponsive male inmate in the shower.

The Deputies preformed CPR on the inmate until EMS crews arrived on scene but the inmate was pronounced dead.

An investigation with the assistance of the Jackson County Medical Examiners Office and Johnson County Sheriff's Office is underway at this time.

The name of the inmate hasn't been released at this time and Mid America Live News will update when more information is made available from the Cass County Sheriff's Office.

Light Freezing Drizzle Through the morning rush


Several reports of accidents around the Metro already this morning! Please take it easy heading into work this morning and allow yourself plenty of extra time. Get there safe!

Freezing drizzle expected to continue through 9AM. Be sure to have to kiddos walk like a penguin heading out to the bus stop as well. Icy surfaces may remain icy thru the day with highs only in the 20s.

Three people charged after shooting incident West of Nevada

Three people have been charged after Vernon County Communications received a call that a person had been shot. According to Sheriff’s Officials, Deputies were dispatched to a call Monday afternoon involving a theft that occurred from a vehicle.

According to investigators, items had been taken from a vehicle west of Nevada and as the vehicle drove away, it was followed by the victims. 

Deputies were notified the suspect’s vehicle had wrecked at the intersection of H and 54 Hwy’s and the suspects had fled from the vehicle into the Deerfield area but were located shortly after by law enforcement. 

Deputies were also notified that one person had been shot in the arm during the incident while trying to stop the suspects. 

According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, a Nevada Police detective, who responded to assist, took one suspect into custody and the remaining suspects were arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies. “All of the suspects were located in Deerfield and taken into custody without incident and the firearms used were also located and seized” said Mosher.

Blane Jones, 19 of Nevada: Assault 1st Degree, three counts of Armed Criminal Action, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property, and Stealing. Bond has been set for Jones at $250,000 cash only. Jones is being held in the Vernon County Jail.

Wesley Eugene McCown, 17 of Nevada: Accessory to Assault 1st Degree, three counts of Accessory Armed Criminal Action, two counts of Accessory Unlawful Use of a weapon, Accessory Receiving Stolen Property and Accessory Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Bond has been set for McCown for $250,000 cash only.

Daniel Albert Hankins Jr, 17 of Nevada: Receiving Stolen Property and stealing Bond for Hankins Jr. has been set at $25,000 cash only.
