The off duty deputy confirmed through Dispatch that Taylor did, in fact, have an active Barton County warrant for failure to appear on a driving while suspended/revoked criminal charge. Taylor was seen leaving Casey's driving a Chevy Trail Blazer.
The off duty Deputy followed Taylor to the address of 710 Broadway in Lamar. That's where Sgt. Zakk Yokley of the Barton County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene where he confirmed that Taylor was, in fact, the driver of the 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer.
As Sgt. Yokley was exiting his vehicle to make contact with Taylor, Taylor sped out of the driveway spinning his tires. Taylor proceeded North on Broadway street at a high rate of speed. Sgt. Yokley activated his emergency equipment to get Taylor to stop, but Taylor continued.
Taylor led Deputies on a 25 minute pursuit that went on city streets and then through out the North East part of Barton County. During the pursuit Taylor drove his vehicle at pursuing officers and got close to striking two patrol vehicles.

The pursuit came to an end at NE 50th Lane and 30th Road by the Grace Place Church. Taylor stopped his vehicle got out and was taken into custody without any further incident. He was transported to the Barton County Jail and he's been placed on a 24 hour hold for investigation awaiting criminal charges.
On the morning of 5-07-2019 a probable cause statement was sent to the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Smalley for formal criminal charges. Taylor was charged with two counts of Second degree assault and one count of resisting arrest by fleeing.
Taylor's Bond amount is $50,000 cash or surety and his first court appearance is on 05-14-2019.
