Bates County Industries set to make a comeback

It's been a long hard road to follow since a fire shut down operations at Bates County Industries on August 9th of last year

Mid America Live spoke with Director and CEO Pam Martin today, and the good news is they should be back up and running at full capacity in a month or so.

The past 9 months have been chaotic- plagued with delays due to insurance issues and contractor problems. And a few other things unseen, such as everything being removed from the building and sent to Serve Pro for a proper cleaning.

Right now there's about 200 boxes of supplies and other materials to be unloaded and put away, so staffers are working full tilt while the building contractor says their work should be complete in a week or so.

This puts Bates County Industries on track to be again fully open for business around June 1st barring any more delays.

Martin said that a huge "thank you" goes to the Adrian Optimist Club, who graciously offered their building for a place for employees to go and learn life skills while repairs were made at the Butler facility.

As things are getting wrapped up, she noted that they will not be able to do any cardboard pickups at this time, pending the hiring of a driver and warehouse assistant. Know anyone? Call 660-679-3667 for more info.
