On 05-20-2019 three subjects were contacted in the Lamar Walmart Parking lot at approximately 12:00 a.m. During that contact a male subject wearing an orange shirt ran from Officers.

The unknown subject ran into the wooded area to the North of Walmart, between Cox Barton County Memorial Hospital and Walmart. Several Officers have been in the area searching for the subject but he has not been located.

The male subject that fled is described as being approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and approximate weight of 165 to 185 lbs. He has short dark hair with numerous visible tattoos. He was wearing an orange Shirt that is ripped in the back. Subject number one a Kenda Foster of Lamar and Subject number two a Dylan Boydston of Nevada was questioned, however denied having any knowledge of who the subject was that was in the vehicle with them.

The two were checked for active warrants but neither had warrants and were released. If anybody sees a subject fitting that description you are asked to call the Barton County Sheriff's office at 417-682-5541.
During continued investigation information was gathered from the Aurora Police Department.

Today: Cool, but nice... Tonight & Tuesday: Thunderstorms

Today will be a bit cool and cloudy, but nice, ahead of a storm system that will bring torrential rain tonight and Tuesday. Expect showers and thunderstorms to spreads northeast across the Kansas-Missouri border after 5 PM tonight, with torrential rain and some hail possible through early Tuesday morning.

There should be a bit of a break in the storms Tuesday morning, but another round of strong thunderstorms will develop again as we reach Tuesday afternoon, and the afternoon storms will not only exacerbate the threat of flash flooding, but will also come with a more potent potential for severe weather; with strong winds, large hail, flash flooding, and isolated tornadoes as threats. Stay weather aware!
