Strong Storms Tonight



Strong to severe storms likely later this evening. Storms will start in N. MO and gradually sag southward into the I-70 corridor late this evening into the overnight hours. Tornado threat is low, but gusty winds, isolated large hail, and isolated flash flooding possible.

Obituary - Hudson Crew Bagnall

Hudson Crew Bagnall, 16 day old son of Nathan and Lisa Bagnall, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. He was born May 28,2019, in Overland Park, Kansas. Survivors include his parents, Nathan and Lisa Bagnall; his brother, Nathan and three sisters, Ashlynn, Addisyn and Bradleigh.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, June 19th at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Cremation will follow services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Ft. Scott, Kansas. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online guestbook at cheneywitt.com.

Obituary - Phillip Larry Bartz

A private family burial for Mr. Bartz will be held in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri. Anyone wishing to leave a memory for the family may sign the memory book at Hill & Son Funeral Home or sign the online register.

Officiating at the service will be Pastor Alan Black and Pastor Larry Sorrels.

Anyone wishing to donate to the memorial for Mr. Bartz may leave those donation at Hill & Son Funeral Home. The family suggests donations to the Appleton City Cemetery or Trinity United Methodist Church.

Phillip Larry Bartz, 78, passed on June 13, 2019, at his home in Rockville, MO. Phillip was born on December 15, 1940 in Clinton, Missouri to Leonard and Anna Mae (Harvey) Bartz.

Phillip attended Appleton City High School, graduating in 1958 and beginning a life-long career as a farmer shortly after. He married Patricia Pasley on September 23, 1961. To this union, two sons and two daughters were born: Tim, Jennifer, Greg, and Gretchen.

From an early age, Phillip showed a deep passion for farming. He was always thinking of what needed to be done and how to do it to the best possible standard. For him, one of his greatest achievements was instilling his love and dedication to the farm in his children and seeing his sons continue in his life’s work.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard and Anna Mae Bartz, and his sister, Mary Ann Knight.

Survivors include his wife, Patty, of the home; his children and their spouses Greg and Pam Bartz, Jennifer and Greg Wheatley, Gretchen Hellwig, and Tim and Lori Bartz; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and his spouse, Leonard E. Jr. and Grace Bartz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Peggy and Bobby Thomas, Nancy and Robert Tindall, and brother-in-law Kenny Knight. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Petty Theft Reported In Nevada




Truman Dam Report 6/14/19

UPDATE--Truman Dam is currently releasing 60,000 cubic feet per second--38,000 cfs through the spillway and 22,000 through the turbines.

East Bledsoe Ferry opened this morning, though portions of parking areas near the spillway will remain closed.

At this time, East Bledsoe Ferry, West Bledsoe Ferry, Berry Bend High Water Ramp, and Thibaut Point Campground are the few Corps parks that are open.
