Fire on 49 near Rich Hill

The Butler fire department is currently assisting the Rich Hill department on a trailer on fire at the northbound I49 ramp at Rich Hill.

Use caution if in the area, we will provide an update as more information becomes available.

Hume man arrested after pursuit in Butler

On 6/28/19 around 12:43am the Butler Police Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper arrested 44 year old Jimmy L. West Jr. of Hume, Missouri after a police pursuit through the city of Butler.

Mr. West was arrested for 1.) Felony- Resisting Arrest by fleeing 2.) Driving While Revoked 3.) Failure to Yield 4.) Multiple Lane Violations 5.) Failure to Signal 6.) Careless and Imprudent Driving.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and is currently being held on no bond. Several other traffic charges are pending at this time on Mr. West.
