Nevada man injured in crash near Rich Hill

On 7/20/19 around 9:19pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Butler Fire Department and Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on CR SW10008 and CR SW 2007 in rural Rich Hill.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1996 Chevrolet truck driven by 41 year old Timothy P. Hood of Nevada, Missouri traveled off the roadway and down into a culvert.

Mr. Hood sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle was secured at the scene of the accident and it will be towed at a later time.

Severe Weather Possible This Evening



Expect this morning's showers and thunderstorms to diminish by late morning. The late morning and afternoon should remain dry however, storms will move back into the area this evening. This evening's storms may be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado possible. 

In addition to the severe threat these storms will also be capable of producing heavy rain which could lead to flash flooding. Stay safe and keep weather aware today.

Tractor pull canceled tonight in Cass County

Due to the massive amount of rain, we have to CANCEL the Tractor Pull event scheduled for tonight. We are sorry for any inconvenience. If we decide to reschedule we will post it and let you know.

Collier Presented Brad Colin Memorial Award

Kameron Collier, Altona 4-H and Adrian FFA, was presented with the Brad Colin Memorial Award, sponsored by the Hudson Hustler's 4-H Club. 

Presenting the award is Myra and Reba Colin.

Vehicle fire just south of Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with assistance of the Butler Fire Department is in route to a vehicle fire on the outer road of I-49 around 3 miles south of Adrian near CR 9002.

A truck with a load of hay bales is said to be fully engulfed in flames at this time.
