Alaric James Womack, age 9, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at home.

Obituary - Delmer Campbell

Delmer Campbell, 97, Warsaw, Missouri passed away, Monday, September 30, 2019 at St. Luke's Hospital, Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com

Visitation will be on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 9:00-11:00am at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Graveside service and interment will be at 4:00pm at Hickory Ridge Cemetery, Upton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the Clinton Senior Center and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Delmer was born and raised in Upton, Missouri where he attended school with his childhood sweetheart Lela Collins, who later became his beloved wife of 50 years. Lela and Delmer raised their family in Liberty, Missouri. He worked for many years as an airline mechanic for Trans World Airlines. After Lela's death in 1994, Delmer moved to Warsaw, Missouri. "Del" began dancing and met many new friends, including his long-time companion, Georgia Smith. Delmer loved spending time gardening outdoors, and hunting and fishing with his T.W.A. friends. He was devoted to his children and was loved by all of his many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Delmer is survived by his daughter Sandra Kay Coe, Warsaw; son Dennis Campbell and his wife Janet, House Springs, Missouri; daughter Debbie Crowell and husband Edward, West Barnstable, Massachusetts, as well as four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.


Butler Class of 1999 20 year class reunion

The Butler Class of 1999 will have a 20 year reunion on Friday October 4th. 

The Butler Bears will be playing a homecoming football game starting at 7pm.

Jeffery Lee Cox, 63, Leavenworth, Kansas departed this life on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home.

He is survived by his son, James Lee Cox, Lansing, Kansas; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Corrigan, Columbus, Kansas; 5 grandchildren, Kody Lemke, Samantha Corrigan, Gabrielle Nichols, Brittney Wolters and Dahlia Cox; two great-grandchildren, Aeva and Aurora; his mother and step-father, Glenda and Bruce Jamison, Shawnee, Kansas; two brothers, Alfred Lee Cox, North Kansas City, Missouri, Michael Lee Cox, Bolivar, Missouri; two sisters, Lisa Seigler, Garden City, Missouri, Catherine Ann Gehring, Shawnee, Kansas; his step-mother, Brenda Cox, Gladstone, Missouri; a step-sister, Patty Icenhowur, Gladstone, Missouri; two step-brothers, Harvey Monroe, Blue Springs, Missouri, Tommy Monroe, Smithville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the New Covenant Fellowship, Garden City, Missouri.

Two Subjects Arrested Following Pursuit in Garden City

Cass Co – Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two people after pursuit that started in Garden City, MO. Monday night around 9:00pm.

A Cass County Deputy patrolling in the Garden City area attempted to stop a tan Buick passenger car in the area of 8th St. and S. St. Rt. F in Garden City for a registration violation. The driver failed to stop and fled at a high rate of speed west on E. 307th. 

The driver continued west on E. 307th and then north on S. St. Rt. T. The driver then went south on S. St. Rt. 7. The pursuit continued south on S. St. Rt. 7 south of Garden City until the driver lost control of the vehicle and spun out in the media and crossed the northbound lanes of the highway. The vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the highway in the area of S. Thunder Rd about 3 miles south of Garden City.

The driver and passenger were both taken into custody without further incident.

The driver of the vehicle, Cherish E. Nowak, 28, Garden City, was arrested on several warrants:

Charges related to this incident are pending. Both subject are currently in custody at the Cass County Jail.
