Butler to be included in filming of TV series

Jeffery Albert, writer/director for Black Zone Productions came before the Butler city council this week seeking permission to film in Butler for a locally produced television series.

Permission granted. The series will center around life without electricity, including the pitfalls and dangers that society will face if the power goes off for an extended period of time.

Albert, a Kansas City native, says that working in Butler will not only bring an air of excitement, but will also give a little boost to our local economy in the form of jobs, tourism and revenue in general.

Set extras will be needed for filming of riot scenes, feel free to be available as shooting will be in and around the Butler square on Friday, December 13th.

Church Vandalism Reported In Butler

The Butler Police Department would like the public's assistance in locating individual or individuals who were involved in Burglary and property damage at the Butler Church of Christ (Case number 19-0626) and Ohio Methodist Church (Case number 19-0623).

Stolen truck in Deepwater

The Henry County Sheriff's Office is searching for a stolen 1998 Ford Ranger black in color with a white camper shell that was stolen from 300 N. 7th in Deepwater, Missouri.

The truck is said to be missing the front grill and has a Missouri licence plate number of 4WB-U73.

Miami County Kansas Sheriff's Office Wanted Wednesday

The Bates County Sheriff's Office has receive many requests from volunteers who are asking to help in the search efforts for Nicole Mallatt. 

We will be holding an information meeting for volunteer searchers in the west parking lot of the Bates County Sheriffs Office located at 6 West Fort Scott Butler Missouri. 

The information meeting will be held at 10:30 A.M. Following the meeting the volunteers will be taken to an area southwest of Butler to begin the search.

Following the meeting with the volunteers and search teams, the Sheriff will address any media wishing to receive information and updates in reference to the search efforts.

To the individual that stole one of their trail cameras and deer blind at the corner of AA and CR 10001 in rural Drexel - you missed one of the other cameras that took your picture. 

If you return the camera and blind to where you took them from within the next week there will be no questions asked.
