Obituary - Ralph Masoner

Ralph Emerson Masoner, age 78, Amoret, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. He was born on February 17, 1942 in Louisburg, Kansas the son of Elmer K. and Emma Faye Hogue Masoner. Ralph attended auctioneer school in Iowa and settled in Amoret in 1958. He worked at the local elevator and had a yard mowing service. 

He was a member of the Amoret Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with his family. Every year around Christmas time the family would gather for what became known as Ralph Fest.

Graveside funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Sharon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.

Obituary - Dan Eads

Dan Eads, 64, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with Masonic services at 11:30 a.m.

Obituary - Judith Anne LeNeve

Judith LeNeve, 81 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her home in Kansas City. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service, also at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler Library or the Butler Youth Center. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinafuneralhome.com.

Judith Anne LeNeve was born July 11, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to Earl and Marcine Hartel Leach. She grew up in Butler and graduated from Butler High School. She was united in marriage to Marion LeNeve and to this union three girls were born.
Judith was active in the Butler community, especially when it came to golf. 

She was an avid player in the women’s league and helped with the local Junior Golf Program. Judith was a person who enjoyed life and embraced everyone she met. She loved to play golf and read a good book, but most importantly, she loved her family. She was at her best when she was surrounded by those she loved.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Bise and husband Jeff of Kansas City, MO., Kristy Umstattd and husband Kevin of Butler, MO., and Kim McGrath and husband Tom of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Blake Billington and wife Leslie, Tyler Billington and wife Michelle, Jennifer Milligan and husband Bryan, Jami Smith and husband Brett, Tyler Bise, Miles Umstattd and wife Emily, Corbin Umstattd and wife Lauren, Drew McGrath and wife Crystal, Brian Horn and wife Kelley, Cori Hutchens and companion Larry Lambeth, and Keith Horn, 23 great-grandchildren, brother Jim Leach and wife Judy and their children, Dani Butowsky and husband Ed, and Cami Hayduk and husband Brian, as well as her brother-in-law Don LeNeve and his wife JoAnn and their daughter Tamee Heiman and husband Doug. Judith also leaves behind many dear friends.

Obituary - Margie Vera Calderwood

Margie Vera Calderwood, 88, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Meadow View of Harrisonville. No services.

Margie was born December 24, 1931 in Killeen, TX, a daughter of Ozias and Vera (Buchanan) Joiner.


Grandview man arrested in Bates County

On 2/19/20 around 8:32pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 25 year old Dalton McDaniel of Grandview, Missouri.
Mr. McDaniel was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated.

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he was later released.

Two vehicle accident involving a Butler Police car

On 2/19/20 around 10:46pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Business I-49 just south of Route TT in rural Butler.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2014 Dodge driven by 28 year old Butler Police Officer Mishon J. Clark slowed and pulled to the shoulder of the roadway, the vehicle then reentered the roadway with emergency lights activated to complete a U-turn back onto the roadway and was struck on the drivers side by a 2014 Ford driven by 28 year old Jordan H. Kunkelman of Adrian, Missouri.

Jordan H. Kunkleman sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was treated at the scene of the accident.

Officer Clark sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler for treatment of leg pain.

The vehicle's were towed from the scene of the accident by Douty's Tow of Butler, Missouri.
