Nisely chosen as Adrian Student of the Month

Cattlemen choose representatives
The Bates County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen are proud to present the sponsorship of Jesse Porter and Katrina Bergman respectively to represent Bates County at the Missouri Cattleman’s Leadership College for 2020.
Katrina and Jesse will attend field trips and training to equip Leadership College members with the best skills and knowledge to advocate for the cattle industry. This week they visited senators in Jefferson City to discuss their opposition of private companies citing eminent domain in order to build towers taller than the Statue of Liberty to provide energy that will not even be used in the Midwest.
College attendees will be sent to Washington, D.C. at the end of March for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Legislative Conference. To learn more about this year’s conference, visit www.ncba.org/legislativeconference

Happy One Year Anniversary
Today marks the one-year anniversary for Officer Brad Beeghley with the Archie Police Department.
He was presented a certificate at last night's City Council meeting for the achievement.
"Officer Beeghley is an important part of our department!
He brings a lot of energy and dedication with him!" said Archie Police Chief Gary Hacker.
Drexel FFA Boosters Dinner & Auction
Attention: Parents, community members, and supporters of Drexel School! Got some yard work that needs done? How about something that needs painted? Need a baby sitter for date night?
Well, look no further! On March 28th, the Drexel FFA and FFA Booster Club will be hosting their annual dinner and silent/labor auction. Many silent and live auction items will be available that evening and students will be available to hire for your upcoming projects!
All proceeds will go to help the students of the Drexel FFA Chapter to pay for leadership experiences, conventions, conferences, and FFA jackets. If you have any questions feel free to contact Mr. Tucker or Tara Wade with the FFA Booster Club! Hope to see you there!

Arkansas man arrested in Bates County
On 3/10/20 around 6:55pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 18 year old Michael S. Lezer of Washington, Arkansas.
Mr. Lezer was arrested for 1.) Driving While Intoxicated.
He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and later released.

Neighborhood Crime Alert in Clinton Area
GENERAL ALERT -- NW CLINTON AREA: Deputy investigated prowler call in the 200 block of NW 221, which occurred within the last hour. Suspect was observed by property owner within their barn and fled the scene on foot, travelling north, prior to deputy's arrival.
Suspect still @ large and described as a white, male with a medium build, wearing ragged clothing.
Please report any pedestrians within the NW Clinton area walking along county roadways to Henry County Central Communications @ (660) 885-5587. Also, please be sure that all outbuildings (as well as vehicles) are locked and keys and valuable items are removed from all vehicles.
