From the Henry County Commission

The Henry County Courthouse will remain open for business. However, at this time we have to take the health of our employees and the citizens of the county into consideration. It is encouraged that if you have questions that can be answered by phone to call into the office to which your question is related.

Starting today March 16, 2020 when entering the courthouse you may only do so by using the South Side entrance.

When you enter the courthouse you will be greeted by a County Deputy who will ask you a few questions and then direct you to the office in which you need.

Harrisonville Police looking for missing woman

We need your help! On March 3rd Christina E. Stone, a 38-year-old white female was reported missing.

During the past week, Harrisonville Investigators have followed up on several leads but have been unsuccessful at finding Christina.

It is not clear what she was last seen wearing, but she normally had on a maroon hooded sweatshirt, was known to always have with her a backpack and her hair had been dyed red. Christina’s family and the Police Department are concerned due to a declining mental condition.

If you have any information regarding Christina’s whereabouts, please contact the Harrisonville Police Department at 380-8940 or Detective Thompson at 380-8950.

Linn County Kansas Residents

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an increased impact in our communities, I would like to share the precautionary measures we are taking.

At the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the safety of our employees and the people we serve has always been our top priority. We currently DO NOT have any issues related to the virus within our facilities, however it is our intent to take precautionary measures to help minimize the chance and protect the well-being of the inmates, officers and all staff within the facilities.

Let me assure you that law enforcement services will not be interrupted. We will continue to enforce laws, maintain security and care for inmates, as well as provide essential protection services to our courthouse, and maintain emergency communication services.

On the advice of national and local health authorities, we too will be practicing social distancing when appropriate. We have cancelled non-essential community events for the upcoming weeks out of an abundance of caution.

The following Sheriff’s Office services will experience the following changes or suspension, effective immediately:

 Front Lobby at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office will have restricted access effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice
 Visitation for inmates has been suspended effective Monday, March 16, 2020. Legal visits are still permissible at this time.
 Fingerprinting services are suspended effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice.

Again, the health and safety of our community is our top priority. We will continue to monitor and take precautionary measure on an as needed basis. We will also do our best to communicate any changes.

Sincerely,
Linn County Sheriff Kevin Friend
