Thank you

The Butler Senior Center greatly appreciate the Butler Fire Department for stepping up to help the seniors and the community during this time.

The Butler Senior Center needed a driver to deliver in Butler on Route #2 for 2 days and the Fire Department stepped up on day one and today.

They have offered to step up in the future! They really have the heart of the First Responder! Thank you from the Butler Senior Center and your community!

Harrisonville Police seeking public assistance

Tuesday morning, another thief we're hoping to identify through the power of social media. Det. Sheppard is investigating the theft of auto parts from JKB Auto (including car seats for some reason we guess?).

Unfortunately one suspect stayed far enough away from the camera to avoid being seen clearly but this guy walked right in front of it during their shenanigans.

If you can identify the suspect, or know someone who recently came into a couple of new car seats but they can't really explain HOW they got them, please call him at 816-380-8933.

Community First Bank Announcement

News release from Mullinax Funeral Home

Mullinax Funeral Home has been a part of the Butler Community since 2009, and Drexel since 2006. We know that our communities band together and do what must be done, supporting each other individually and professionally.

Some have asked me how COVID-19 will affect funeral gatherings. I wanted to share with you what Mullinax Funeral Homes will be doing and the extra precautions we are taking - and the services we are making available. In addition to our usual cleaning, we are increasing sanitation in all areas but especially our chapels, bathrooms, entrances and exits. The safety of our families, employees, and general public is of utmost importance.

We recognize that large gatherings are discouraged and may be prohibited soon. Therefore, we will begin recording all funeral and memorial services. With the family’s permission, we will post these services to our Facebook page and website. This will allow the public to ‘attend’ funeral services virtually, or view the services at a later time, if desired by the family. In most cases, we are able to record the service and provide the family with a copy as well.

I take great pride in our ability to be innovative and flexible. We strive to serve each family to the best of our ability in every situation. As COVID-19 presents a new challenge to the funeral service, we want to offer helpful options for families to avoid the crowds, but still pay their respects in a dignified manner.

We continue to stay informed from the CDC and our local health authorities on what options we can provide.

As always, we answer our phones 24 hours every single day. If you have any questions or concerns, please call.

I thank you for your continued trust in Mullinax Funeral Homes. We will continue to be here for you.

From the desk of Rich Hill Mayor Jason Rich

I am gathering information that in multiple cities, relatively close to Rich Hill, city hall was visited by infected individuals shortly before becoming aware of their condition. This has resulted in the quarantining of city employees there and reducing the city's ability to effectively operate.
To mitigate our city employees' contact to the virus and thus maintain the city's ability to operate at an acceptable level, I am implementing new procedures until further notice. These procedures will be evaluated and may become more or less stringent as we move forward.
I have notified staff to limit business done inside of city hall. All payments must be made either over the phone or through the deposit box. All business requiring citizens to enter city hall is by appointment only. Staff will ask a series of questions before setting an appointment time and be limiting face to face contact. Staff will also keep desk windows closed as much as possible when conducting business.
All non-emergency police reports will be done over the phone as well. City employees will be maintaining a six-foot social distancing policy with no handshakes or other physical contact.
The city apologizes for any inconvenience, but we hope these efforts allow the city to continue to effectively function.
Jason Rich
Mayor
