Henry County Health Center confirms 4 new positive cases of COVID-19

The Henry County Health Center (HCHC) has received confirmation of 4 more positive cases of COVID-19. Clinton-2 and Urich-2. This brings the total number of confirmed positive cases in Henry County to 1624.

All contact tracing has commenced and all parties that have had close contact are being notified. HCHC continues to encourage residents to practice social distancing, washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or more, and to remain home if you are sick. 

The CDC continues to recommend that individuals to wear a face covering when you are in public, and are unable to social distance, to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Obituary - Christine Louise (Reed) Plunkett

Christine Louise Plunkett, 91, Nevada, MO passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at her home in Nevada. Christine was born September 25, 1929 in Flint, MI to Edward and Esther M. (Morrow) Reed. She married Tilman Plunkett on June 4, 1953 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2000.

Christine was raised in Michigan and attended school there. In the late 1950’s she came to Kansas City, then later moved to Butler where she lived and worked at Bates County Hospital for 17 years as a clerk until her retirement in 1987. Following retirement, she came to Nevada and worked for Thompson Floral for a number of years. She enjoyed going to garage sales and camping. Christine attended the Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include her children, Esther “Ginger” Van Blaricum, Brighton, MI, Marsha Ring and her husband Shawn, Nevada, Paul “Buster” Plunkett and his wife Amber, Walker, MO, Steven Plunkett (Sandra), Kansas City, MO; stepchildren, Rick Plunkett, Butler, MO, Sharon Ermilio, Rockford, IL, Dana Chandler, Columbia, SC; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Tilman, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jim Wilkinson and Robert Wilkinson, one grandson, Jimmie Joe Wilkinson, and one great-grandson, Kyron Atchison, and one brother, William Reed.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with Paul “Buster” Plunkett officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.

*** Those in attendance will be asked to maintain social distancing and are asked to wear face masks to protect themselves and others.

Kenneth “Kenny” Arthur Fullerton Sr., age 68 of Butler, Missouri died Thursday, December 31, 2020 Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born July 21, 1952 to Clifford Arthur and Ethel Robbins Fullerton in Granby, Missouri.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Judy Fullerton of Butler, Missouri; two daughters, Melanie York and husband Bobby of Diamond, Missouri and Melanie Gribble and husband William of Overland Park, Kansas; two sons, Kenneth Arthur Fullerton Jr. of Raytown, Missouri and Ryan Barnes and wife Angela of Liberty, Missouri; three sisters, Mary Jane Koboski of Oklahoma state, Joyce Hottel of Neosho, Missouri and June Hatfield of Granby, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy Morrison; a brother, Clifford Allen Fullerton, a sister, Joann Fullerton; and two grandsons, Cody and Taylor York.

Due to Covid, the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel respectfully asks that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Obituary - Everett M. Lee

Everett M. Lee age 87 of Peculiar, Missouri departed this life Sunday, January 3, 2021 at his home.

Everett is survived by his four sons, Rocky K. Lee and his wife Sara of Raymore, Missouri; Randy K. Lee and his wife Kathy of Grandview, Missouri; Ricky K. Lee of Davenport, Iowa, and Rance K. Lee of Overland Park, Kansas; a sister, Dorothy A. Goza of Sweet Water, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation with inurnment in the Peculiar Cemetery. Private family services.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri 64701.

St. Clair County Sheriff's Office News Release December 29, 2020 through January 4, 2021



Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and would like to respectfully ask to give us time to adjust our Website and Press Releases accordingly.

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made seven arrests and took multiple reports during the weeks of December 29, 2020 through January 4, 2021.

Arrests
Bryan Mckim- On December 29th, Bryan Mckim, 46, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a Misdemeanor charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Bryan was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call for service in a regards to a vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the deputy made contact with Bryan Mckim, who was taken into custody after stating he had been huffing Air Duster.

Karen Burch - On December 30th, Karen Burch, 70, Osceola, was arrested on a Felony charge of Domestic Assault - 2nd Degree. Karen was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when St. Clair County deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a possible domestic. It was reported that Karen Burch assaulted her granddaughter, and Karen was taken into custody.

Cristan Harris - On December 31st, Cristan Harris, 38, Lowry City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Felony charge of Tampering With a Witness in a Felony Prosecution. The bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy received information that Cristan had threatened to damage the property of and sue, a witness in a Felony Prosecution if he/she did not get a falsified statement notarized.

Dakota Johnson - On January 1st, Dakota Johnson, 27, Humansville, was arrested on a Felony charge of Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Felony charge of Driving While Revoked/Suspended. Dakota was booked and released pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy performed a traffic stop on the vehicle Dakota was the driver of for an equipment violation. K-9 Havik was called, who alerted to the odor of narcotics. The deputy performed a search of the vehicle at this time and located a small plastic bag with a crystal substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Corey Smith - On January 2nd, Corey Smith, 31, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a Felony charge of Domestic Assault - 2nd Degree, a Felony charge of Possession of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, and a Misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Corey was held on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when St. Clair County deputies responded to a call for service in regards to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, deputies took Corey Smith into custody and after they received verbal consent to search the house, St. Clair County deputies discovered multiple pieces of paraphernalia and small baggies that all field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Paul Evans - On January 2nd, Paul Evans, 31, Osceola, was arrested on a Felony charge of Unlawful Use of a Weapon - Subsection 5 - While Intoxicated - Loaded Weapon, and a Misdemeanor charge of Domestic Assault - 4th Degree - 1st or 2nd Offense. Paul was held on a 24 hour hold pending formal charges.

The arrest was made when St. Clair County deputies responded to a domestic in progress. Paul was taken into custody for shoving Brianna Townsend and illegally discharging a firearm while intoxicated.

Korey Wegner - On January 3rd, Korey Wegner, 34, El Dorado Springs, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for a Misdemeanor charge of Assault - 4th Degree - Pursuant to Subdivision (3), a Misdemeanor charge of Kidnapping - 3rd Degree, and a Misdemeanor charge of Stealing. The bond was set at $7,500 cash only.

The arrest was made when a St. Clair County deputy responded to a call in regards to a suspicious person, later identified as Korey Wegner, whom was refusing to leave the property and was being highly aggressive to the property owners.

Sharon Roxanne (Miller) Newman, age 59 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday, December 26, 2020 in her home in Butler. She was born July 17, 1961 to Robert Edward and Charlotte Ann Underwood Miller in Butler, Missouri.

Sharon was a talented floral designer with artistic ability and sense of style to develop pleasing designs. She could transform flowers into beautiful wreaths, bouquets, vases and centerpiece elements. She possessed customer service skills as well as organizational skills and loved to make people happy. Sharon was also a gifted musician. In addition, she was very fond of animals--most recently her mini collie, Gracie. Her most recent work experience was coordinator at WIC in Nevada, Missouri.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Rick Newman of Butler, Missouri; three daughters, Amanda Bangs, Kristin Wright and Brittany Foster all of Virginia state; an uncle, Reid Miller and wife Nancy of Viola, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and her mini collie, Gracie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
