Important council meeting this week

The Butler city council currently has a pretty full plate- and as priorities go, the situation with the Kansas City Beef Company looms near the top.

After the planning commission voted not to allow rezoning for on site slaughter last week, the final say will come from the council who will meet Tuesday night at 7 pm.

The meeting most likely will be held online via Zoom. You can find the link to join on the City of Butler Facebook page.

Cass County Public Library is excited to announce that the Archie branch will be moving to a larger location in April

Cass County Public Library is excited to announce that the Archie branch will be moving to a larger location in April!

The new location is at 207A South Main Street, just a couple of blocks north of the current location. The 3300 square feet available will more than double the size of the branch and will include dedicated collection spaces, seating areas, and meeting room space for library events.

Moving to this new space is made possible by an opportunity presented by Todd Sears of Energy Curve Technologies to relocate the library to one of his vacant buildings on Main Street. He sees the library as an important part of the Archie community and, working with the library, has renovated the space for public use. The library system is in a much better position to add resources to the expanded space with the passage of Proposition L.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will take place at 10am on Saturday, April 3rd.
Masks are strongly encouraged and the library requests that visitors observe social distancing guidelines. The library will also be limiting the number of people inside the branch at one time. Thank you for doing your part to keep everyone healthy!

Expanded Hours
As the library is expanding service hours throughout the county as part of its phased reopening plan, the new Archie location will open with the following hours:
Mondays 1pm to 7pm
Wednesdays 9am to 1pm
Thursdays 1pm to 7pm
Saturdays 9am to 3pmWe will still offer curbside service on Mondays and Thursdays from 2pm to 7pm. Call the branch for more information.

Current Location Closing March 20th! The current Archie location will close at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 20th.

If you need to change your pickup location for holds, please call the branch at 816-293-5579.

If you need to stock up before the current location closes, stop by during the hours below:
Mondays 2pm to 7pm
Thursdays 2pm to 7pm
Saturdays 9am to 1pm

Curbside service will be offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 2pm to 7pm until the move.

Thank you for your continued support over the years, and we will see you in our new location in April!
