Bates County Memorial Hospital emergency room remodel project complete

Emergency room staff at Bates County Memorial Hospital stand next to a recent addition to the department, one that may not immediately spring to the eye.

Sliding doors and glass divisions have replaced the curtains that previously separated patient exam areas, improving infection prevention and privacy for patients and staff.

The addition reflects the hospital’s continual commitment to improve patient care and safety.

Sinkhole closes road near Amsterdam

Heavy rains have obviously contributed to this large hole that appeared on county road 8002 about a mile east of Kamp Keirsey. While county commissioners work on a fix, local traffic will have to find an alternate route. -photo courtesy Les Nieder

Update- The county commissioners report a repair has been made and the road is again open.
