Obituary - Patsy West

Patsy West, 75 of Butler, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her home in Butler surrounded by family. Cremation, with memorial services scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). 


A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Saturday, also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to JW Worldwide Work. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com.

Patsy Ann West was born April 16, 1946 in Amoret, Missouri to James and Thelma White Bond. She grew up in the Amoret area and graduated from Miami High School in 1964. She married her high school sweetheart Lonnie West at the age of 18. During their 57 years of marriage they had four daughters, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Patsy enjoyed doing anything outdoors from gardening to planting flowers, and even mowing. She was a fantastic cook, ruining anyone else’s attempt at the same dish. In the words of her grandkids, “That’s not how grandma makes it!” She was always up for a game of Rummy, Yahtzee, or a good puzzle. Patsy loved to embroider and could sew anything you asked her to, like clothes, aprons, pillowcases, curtains, doll clothes, and even costumes. She would do anything and everything for her girls and grandbabies at the drop of a hat.

Patsy was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witness organization. She was known for her sweet nature, and was loved by many. She will be deeply missed.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Hazel White, and infant son Allen. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Lonnie West, four daughters, Jennifer Denayer and son Brayden, Lonna Hansen and son Gavin, Chrystal Rincker and daughter Charlotte all of Butler, MO., Daughter Sheri Broege and husband Steve along with their three children, Jessica, Steve Jr., and Jenna, six great-grandchildren, all of Paducah, KY. She also leaves behind her brother David Bond and wife Shirley, sister Ellen, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.


Obituary - Sara Regina Himes

Sara Regina Himes, age 93, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Henry County Memory Fund or the Clinton United Methodist Church and can be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.

Sara Regina Himes was born on April 15th, 1928 in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania to James and Mamie (Mowery) Brocious.

Sara was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church since 1962. Sara raised her children. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She loved to cook and bake especially bread and rolls.

Sara is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, Siblings; Helen Wise, Bill Brocious, Geraldine, Guy, Mary Sherry, and great-granddaughter Anna Lynn Himes.

Survivors include 4 sons; Gary Himes of Kansas City, Missouri, Terry (Laura) Himes of Clinton, Missouri, David (Judy) Himes of Clinton, Missouri, Danny (Sherry) Himes of Clinton, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.

Paul Stanley Graham, age 84, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, June 10th, 2021 at Clinton Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Clinton, Missouri. Paul's wishes were to be cremated. Eagle Scouts to be recognized in Clinton

Scout Troop 225 and Scout Troop 430 of Clinton are pleased to announce an upcoming Eagle Scout Court of Honor, to be held at the Northeast Baptist Church on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

Garden City man injured in two vehicle accident

On June 12th around 7:50 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident at Route T and 307th Street in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2015 Honda Pilot driven by 39 year old Nacny C. Lancano-Mejia of Hall, Iowa failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 44 year old Joshua M. Wilson of Garden City, Missouri.

Mr. Wilson sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Garden City EMS to Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed by J's Southland Tow.

Update: Two seriously injured in motor vehicle accident on the outer road of I-49 north of Passaic

On June 12th around 5:55 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Butler Fire Department, Adrian Fire Department and Bates County EMS responded to a two vehicle accident on the west outer road of I-49 just north of CR 8002 around 2 miles north of Passiac.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2018 Polaris RZR driven by 28 year old Aryan D. Cumpton of Butler, Missouri collided with a 1999 Oldsmobile driven by 57 year old Robert R. Gillispie of Amoret, Missouri. 

Aryan D. Cumpton along with a passenger in the Polaris 25 year old Robert B. Berry of Adrian, Missouri both sustained serious injuries in this accident and both were transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
