Upon making contact with the victim, he reported that his 2008 Gulfstream Camper was stolen sometime between September 30th and October 4th, 2021.
A report was taken and evidence was collected by deputies. The investigation is still ongoing.

The Appleton City Middle School and High School FBLA will be hosting the annual FBLA Pink Nights Community Service Project. The first night will be at the Volleyball game this Thursday evening, October 14 The Football pink night will be October 22, and the Basketball pink night will be December 10 There will be games, prizes, and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds will go to help cancer patients within our community. There will also be t-shirts available to order. The theme this year is “Bulldog Strong”. Come out and support them in this fight against cancer.
The AC FFA Chapter will hold their annual Food for America demonstrations 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Friday, October 15 in the high school gravel parking lot. Any community members interested in learning about agriculture are welcome to walk through and hopefully learn new things about the world of agriculture. They will have various demonstrations from Agricultural Organizations as well as working stations put on by FFA members
Montrose Athletic Booster Club's Kickin’ Chicken Fundraiser Dinner will be Sunday, October 17 from 11:00-2:00 (or until sold out) at Montrose High School. Curbside to go service ONLY. $12 per plate includes Perryman's fried chicken (choice of white or dark meat), cheesy mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, and chocolate sheet cake. Sorry NO Special Orders and NO children’s menu. Proceeds benefit all athletic teams at MHS.
The Appleton City Manor and Countryside Estates will have a lemonade stand and will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for area residents on October 22, 2021 from 10:30 to 12:30 or until supplies last. This will be a drive thru only. They ask you do not get out of your car. Staff will bring your order to you. Sacks will contain sandwich of choice, potato chips and condiments for sandwiches.
Ellett Memorial Hospital Foundation is having a Kickin’ Chicken dinner on Sunday, October 24 from 11:00 to sell-out. Curbside pickup only at the front entrance. $12 for fried chicken (white or dark), mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll and dessert. (No kid meals or special meals available.)
Ellett Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is sponsoring a Collective Goods Book Fair 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28 in the Outpatient hallway. There will be wide selection of books, gifts and useful gadgets for all ages. It is open to everyone! Get an early start on your Christmas.
A Haunted Walk will be held 5:00 p.m. (registration at 4:30) October 30. It will begin and end at Appleton City Forrest Park and circles through the cemetery. Participants may wear costumes but it is not required. Be prepared to meet mysterious guests along the way. Montrose VFW Post #8820 will host a street dance and auction 8:30 p.m. October 29 at the old VFW lot. Music will be provided by Sparrow Foot. Costumes are welcome. Cooler fees will be $5.00 - $10.00. First Baptist Church of Appleton City and AC FFA have paired up this year to make an impact in the local community by campaigning for canned food and other non-perishable food items to stay local and be donated to West Central’s food pantry, in AC. Representatives from both FBC and AC FFA will be out the afternoon of Monday, October 18 to distribute empty grocery sacks with a note attached on how to fill the sack and when and where to leave it for pickup. Look for those empty sacks on your front porches and doorsteps. On Wednesday, October 20, First Baptist Church Team KIDS attendees (children ages kindergarten through 5th grade) will pick up bags on the north side of the city, while AC FFA will pick up bags on the south side of the city. If you live outside city limits and would like to contribute to the food drive to help offset hunger in families in St. Clair County, please don't hesitate to drop off at Appleton City High School/Ag. Building or at First Baptist Church (leave on east side door).

Harrisonville Police Department Retirement Announcement
Please join us in congratulating and recognizing Corporal Doug Rose, as today marks his official retirement from the Harrisonville Police Department. Corporal Rose was hired by the HPD on January 1, 1997, and during his time here he worked as a Patrol Officer, Tactical Team Member, School Resource Officer, DARE Officer, Field Training Officer and Patrol Supervisor.
Doug Rose was promoted to the rank of Corporal on September 10, 2018. Since that time, Corporal Rose has worked as a supervisor in the Patrol Division.
Cpl. Rose has been a tremendous asset to the Harrisonville Police Department and the citizens of Harrisonville and will be greatly missed.
We want to wish Cpl. Rose all the best as he closes out this chapter of his life and starts fresh on another. Congratulations Cpl. Rose on a job well done.

Obituary - Maynard M. Miller
Cowboy life called once again and after selling the drive inn, Maynard managed a cattle ranch in Camp Point, IL and from there went on to become an independent sales representative in the western industry, selling saddles, tack, buckles and cowboy hats to western stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. He retired from sales life as one of the top salesman for Circle Y Saddle Co.
Maynard was an avid sports fan from professional sports to high school sports. He loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren compete in sports. He also enjoyed playing cards and always anticipated his weekly card game with a foursome of close friends.
In addition to Doris, his wife of 71 years, he is survived by his daughters, Melinda Gates (Bill) of Nevada, Jan Reed (Denny) of Rich Hill, Joy Tudor (Jack) of Nevada and Vickie Robinson of St Louis; six grandchildren, Tyson Beshore (Kristy) of Nevada, Tiffany Myers (Tom) of Pittsburg, KS, Derek Reed (Maureen) of Lee's Summit, Dane Reed (Danielle) of Lee's Summit, Wes Osbourn of Houston, TX and Jill Barrett (Seth) of Nevada; eight great grandchildren, Calli and Cade Beshore, Logan and Addy Myers, Charlie and Lanie Reed, Jocelyn and James Reed and one soon to arrive great granddaughter, River Barrett. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Miller (Harva) of Nevada and sister-in-law Alice England of Ottawa, KS and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Clyde W Miller, sister Maxine Ruesink, and several sisters and brothers in law; Jean Miller, Gordon Ruesink, JW England, Francis and Irene Klink, Betty and Jack Grider, Ray and Blondie Killgore.
Maynard will be cremated and there will be no services. The family suggests memorials to the Nevada R5 Foundation, Marsha Hooper, 811 W Hickory, Nevada, MO 64772 to be used per Maynard's wishes.

Obituary - Richard Edward DeFries
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m.
Richard was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 15, 1946 to Richard Edwin DeFries and Thelma (Cosgrove) DeFries. After graduating high school, Richard served his country in the United States Navy from July 30, 1965 to May 23, 1969. In the late fall of 1968 he was joined in marriage with his wife, Linda (Tannery) on November 30th in Kansas City, Missouri. Their union was blessed with two children. Richard worked most of his life as a painter, paper hanger & 6 years as business agent. He was a retired member of District Council #3 Painters Union & worked in the retirees club. In life Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, drawing, painting, growing plants, helping others and making those around him laugh
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma DeFries.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty-two years, Linda DeFries; son, Mark DeFries (Monica); daughter Sara Chaney (Brian); three sisters, Patricia Clingenpeel, Carol Moore, and Diane Russell; two brothers, James DeFries and George DeFries; three grandchildren, Destiny Day (Aaron), Breanna Chaney; and Dalton DeFries; and two great grandchildren, Adelynn and Jensen.

Obituary - George Junior Williams
He was born in Topeka, Kansas on November 7, 1949, the son of Loren "Lee" and Ruby M. (Eiserman) Williams. He married Linda Kay (Stokes) Grizzle on April 2, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. He worked for Wade's Quarries as a heavy equipment operator from 1975 to the early 1990s. He had to retire due to health issues.
He enjoyed getting of the house, taking road trips. He enjoyed fishing for bass, catch and release only. He enjoyed riding his three wheel bicycle until he could no longer do that. Connie, Bonnie and Gale are grateful to George for being there when they needed him most.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Linda on December 18, 2014; one son, David Williams; one brother, Michael Williams.
Survivors include, two sons, Gale Grizzle (Jennifer) and John Williams (Janice); three daughters, Connie Curnette, Bonnie LaFoe (Michael), and Sharon Phillips (Steve); two brothers, Ernie Williams and Norman Williams; four grandchildren, Kyle Grizzle, Adam Grizzle, Amanda Curnutte, and Kayla Curnutte; four great-grandchildren, Allie, Andie, Bishop and Raven.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 at Schneider Funeral Home, La Cygne Chapel at 2:30 pm. Burial will follow in La Harpe Cemetery, La Harpe, Kansas.
