Frost Advisory Saturday Morning for northern Missouri
Conditions are starting to come together that will result in temperature dropping pretty quickly a bit later tonight, and there is a good chance NE KS & NW MO may see those Saturday morning temps drop into the mid 30s. That means those areas could see some patchy frost develop tomorrow morning, especially in low-lying areas. Cover those sensitive plants tonight if you can!

Way to go!
Congratulations to these three outstanding Osceola Indian students! They received an ACT scholarship for excellence on their tests. Left to right... Abigail Brightwell, Zoe Tillotson, and Abigai Degenfelder.
Obituary - Linda Ruth Long
Linda Ruth (Miller) Long, 73, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 peacefully with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with the family receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.
Linda was born to parents Paul V. and Alva Marie Miller on September 15, 1948 in Harrisonville, Missouri. Linda attended Harrisonville High School. She married Vern Long on October 1, 1971. They started their fifty year marriage in Freeman, Missouri but soon after moved and made Harrisonville their home. She worked as a certified nurse aide at ABC Health Center and at Golden Years Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed the many residents she cared for but left to support her and her husband’s business, V&L Conoco. Linda helped at the station as often as she could but her first priority was her children. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alva Miller; her infant brother, Dennis Miller; brother, James Miller; and sister, Paula Sue Jackson. Linda is survived by her husband, Vern Long of Harrisonville; her son, David, and wife, Christy Hunter, of Peculiar; her daughter, Cindy, and husband, Steve Bunch, of Lee’s Summit; and her son, Clint, and his wife, Rebecca Long, of Harrisonville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Linda was a loving, caring, and compassionate person. She was nicknamed Bunga by her first grandchild and it carried on through every grandchild and great-grandchild thereafter. Linda was immensely proud of her family, leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories, and will leave a void in her families lives that will never be able to be filled.
