John was born on February 10, 1940 in Cedar County, MO to Orval and Lois Chambers. He was the second born of seven children growing up in Cedar County. Just shy of his high school graduation, John enlisted in the US Marine Corp. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA from June 1957 to November 1960, where he became a truck driver. John’s roots brought him back to his home in Mo. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Sharon Williams. They would marry on January 6, 1962 at the First Methodist Church in El Dorado Springs. Together, they had three children; Teresa, Johnna, and Johnny. He was a hard working man, painting water towers and driving trucks, gaining his CB nickname Buzzard. He would go on to work for more than 20 years before retiring at Mid America Dairy.
John had many hobbies throughout his lifetime. Fishing, fixing up old boats, reading westerns, trail riding, going to horse shows, traveling on long motorcycle rides, playing cards with friends and family. One of John’s biggest passions was his love for hunting and running his dogs, often tearing up a truck or two. He raised and sold July Hounds for many years. John was a man of few words with a big heart. Devoted husband and loving father, he will be deeply missed.

Peggy Lee Diggins, 73, of Nevada, Missouri, won her 7-year battle with cancer on Thursday, October 21, 2021, when she passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Peggy was born on June 15, 1948, in Nevada, to Harriet and Paul Nelson. She married Steve Diggins on August 25, 1988.
Peggy grew up in Nevada, with her brother, Jack. During her childhood you could always find her on the farm with her dad; a time which cultivated her love of animals. Peggy attended both the University of Arkansas and University of Missouri. She retired as the Building Services Supervisor at 3M in April of 2010, after 21 years. While she thoroughly enjoyed a day at home riding the golf cart with her husband and dogs, she was the happiest anywhere her family was. Those who knew Peggy know that her proudest accomplishment was her grandchildren. No matter the activity, she never missed anything they were involved in, and was always their biggest cheerleader.
In addition to her husband, Steve, survivors include her brother Jack and his wife Sondra Nelson, as well as her children and grandchildren: Dawn, Bradyn, and Bradly Woods; Chris, Heather, Carsten, and Camryn Warner; Amy, Cory, Payton, Paxton, and Payge Dahmer; Kelly and Tracy, Kyle and Erin, and Klay Beisly & Janna.
