Thank you Linda!
Until recently, Linda Cameron sold doilies she crocheted by hand through her craft store on Etsy, an online marketplace.
She is no longer able to craft, but she was motivated to give back to the hospital and chose to donate a batch of her doilies to the BCMH Auxiliary Gift Shop. The doilies are on sale now. Thank you, Linda!
Our volunteers enjoy working in the new Gift Shop, which opened earlier this year. Pictured are Charlotte Guss and Norman Black, two of our helpful volunteers. They are looking for more volunteers to work in the gift shop or to greet visitors at the information desk.

Update from the city of Harrisonville
INFORMATION: The city of Harrisonville would like to provide you an update regarding the water main break that happened Wednesday and the precautionary Boil Advisory that followed.
At about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, staff were notified about an 8-inch water main break in the area of Lexington and Sycamore. Staff shut down the main and were able to successfully cut out and replace the broken section of pipe. Staff had the issue resolved at 2:30 p.m. The precautionary Boil Advisory was posted as a result of the pipe being cut out and replaced.
At about 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, staff were notified of a second water main break located in the area of Independence and Vine. Staff ran into several issues while trying to repair the broken main but were finally able to remove the split pipe and finish installing the new section at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. The area covered by the original precautionary Boil Advisory was the same area that was affected by the second water main break, eliminating the need for a second precautionary Boil Advisory.
At this time, staff believe water is safe to use/drink for those in the affected area, except for nine (9) addresses who received special door notices from the Water Department.
We want to thank each person affected by this issue for their patience and understanding during the past 24 hours. We also want to thank the members of our staff who work diligently to make sure the issue was resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Cass County Man Wins $161,500 Show Me Cash Jackpot
A resident of Peculiar was feeling lucky when he purchased a Missouri Lottery Show Me Cash ticket for the Aug. 31 drawing.
He purchased the Quick Pick ticket at Casey’s General Store, 6801 E. 163rd St. in Belton, and stopped by the store the next day to see if he had won.
“I was just in shock!” he shared.
The winning numbers that night were 13, 19, 22, 34 and 38.
His ticket was one of two that matched all five numbers drawn on Aug. 31, making each of the winning tickets worth half of the $323,000 jackpot. The other winning ticket was sold at Price Chopper, 1030 W. 103rd St., in Kansas City.
Show Me Cash is drawn daily at 8:59 p.m., with jackpots that start at $50,000 and grow until won. There have been 46 jackpot-winning tickets so far in 2021, with an average prize of more than $141,000.
In FY21, players in Cass County – where the winning ticket was sold – won more than $14.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, retailers received more than $1.4 million in commissions and bonuses, and more than $2.9 million in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
All Missouri Lottery offices are open – by appointment only – for claims of $600 or more. Winning tickets may also be claimed by mail.
